Thread: Venbdor name filter... So Lame!

You know it really pisses me off that we have guys running around with names like chevy chase, greanleaf toker, XR kune, and sauron, but I can't use the word imperial in the name of a vendor that is only going to sell imperial ships. I was also unable to use the word wookiee when I had a tailor and wanted to place a wook vendor that sold wookieee clothing only. THis is very backwards to me.

tell me about it, i wanted to have a vendor called "cheap weapons" ... NO!!!!
there are loads of other names i thought would be useful to help describe what was on the vendor, but i've forgotten because tbh, you have to forget about the mountian of little things this game has wrong, or you wouldnt be able to enjoy it.

I have a male Wookiee vendor selling Wookiee clothing and I had to name it Wookie Clothing. But conversely, I could name my Ithorian vendor Ithorian Clothing. Makes sense huh?

They never got around to adding "Ithorian" to the filter... oopsie. ;-)

Well one workaround (since the filters do not take spacing into account)
S p a c e - o u t - t h e - w o r d....
So my wookiee vendor says -W O O K I E E - WEAR instead of WOOKIEE WEAR which gets rejected for being to furry.
Changing the word into spaced letters does not look to bad on over head map or above the vendor itself (so long as it isnt outragously long).
In fact personallyI like seeing one or two vendors spaced out like that on overhead map...take a ride thru Cnet ring of sales doom and you'll see what I mean.

postscript : if any moron decides to abuse the spacing out to workaround the filter to place 'indecent' named vendors, and they change it so we cant space at all..or worse name the vendors themselves with random generator...I will personally hunt you down to fling you into space.....
....well not really but you would be the cause of many merchants bane and should they find out bannings would definatly occur

That is a very good sploit, erm, I mean woraround. I like it and will use it.
Unfortunately I already established the vendor for "Impeerial Ships" LOL

actuallyI had to laugh,I mastered merchant so long ago...
and held on to the prof no matter what bug ate my wares, or how my vendor siezed up.
I went thru the create over 1000 vendors for the just the right look,
even more recently did it for vendors with tat colored just so for an idea I had for clothes by color.
(had em set up and dressed, then changed my mind lol, had to do the 300 vendors shuffle again)
but I truely laughed at the
"bane of all honest hardworking merchants"
did you not read the PS..
do you not understandI could not bear to call wookiee species wookies
or that a rebel or imperial should be able to call their sells by such?!?!
So bring on the durni blood,I will take it with my grain of salt and be merry!
For vendors should speak with ampersand capibilties and factional declarations.
We as merchant's should have pride that our wares are displayed as we want, and not as the filter allows,
We should scream at the top of our fonts>
W E - A R E - M E R C H A N T S - P A Y -U S - O U R -D U E !
andI so love haveing 12 vendors to help shout that point out.
