Thread: Petition: Vendors who sell out auto-drop planetary map listing
Instead they should remove any incentive to have a vendor shown on the map if you do not have anything to sell. No browsing and access fee xp, and we would not have so many empty shops, add the removal of vendors owned by ex-merchants as well and map registration would again be worth something.

I still think this should be implemented, even with the 100M cdef, not everyone would do that, and anyone who would would lose business for doing it.

I am not a merchant,

Did you everstop to think customers are sick to death of running around to "planetary advertised" shops, only to find that there is NOTHING on the vendor?
If the merchant is "just to busy or just sick to death of restocking it", then he SHOULDNT BE ON THE MAP, thats my whole point.

Check the signature.
Plus this is not something that is all about merchants, its about everyone else who wants to find goods and cant because most of the vendors are sold out.
Yes it does affect merchants too, as real merchants lose business due to people giving up on checking planetary advertising.
I was just thinking this last night. I wanted a black Ubese helmet. Easy enough, there were at least 20 armor vendors listed on the global map.
First, I tried two well known armorsmiths. About6 kilometers of travel, both their vendors were empty. Oh well, they are popular.
Next I tried another one called "COMPOSITE AND UBESE". Perfect, he will have some Ubese. As I approach,I notice 10 small naboo homes, all named "FOOD" "WEAPONS" "LOOT" "CLOTHING" and such. I knew what it was, but I had to check... When I saw the 1 credit access fee for 15 minutes, I knew I had to pay it just to be sure. Yep, sure enough. Empty house with one empty vendor on it. Merchant farm. Out of the way, none the less. What a jerk.
4 empty vendors and 2 merchant farms later, I had my helm. Only took about an hour and 20 kilometers worth of travel, but it will be easier next time-- Iwaypointed the good vendor.
many of us do not rely on the planet map...
the real problem is not the planet map but as someone else said that you have to travel around and look at all the vendors...
a better skill would be instead of the planet map, have your goods show up on the bazaar...
then people could buy from a convient location and just go to the vendor to pick the merch up...
but once again this is a SKILL you have to PAY for...so if people want to pay the money then they get the listing...it isnt free

Now that is a sweet idea. Let high level/Master Merchants integrate their merchants with the holonet. You can see their stuff on the Bazaar (or maybe a special terminal) and buy it. You still have to go there to pick it up, but you are saved the PITA of going to every merchant on the planet. That would be a great reason for someone to pick up and retain higher level skills.
It would also align pricing, but I don't know if this is something other merchants would like or not. It would be great too if you were looking for something unusual like a holocron, or a crystal, or a nemodian bird cage. You could hit every merchant on the planet and not find one, but you could find out instantly if someone had one available.

In additon to that, it would be nice if you could pay an extra fee to have the items you just purchased delivered right to the bazaar terminal you are visiting. (it might not be realistic but its only a game)
