Hey, would like to say thats a very nice guide you wrote DocSavag, thanks for taking the time.

"Stockroom: The stockroom holds items purchased through the offers screen, and items withdrawn from sale (either by your manually or expired by the 30 day timer) The stockroom has a 7 day timer. Anything in the stockroom beyond 7 days is subject to deletion. Be very careful about storing items in your stockroom."

I was wondering if this applies to the Bazaar as well. I've purchased/bid on items which have disappeared before without me even touchng them (never tried to retrive them). So if I dont retrive items from the Bazaar in a set amount of time are they destroyed as well?

Yes. The Available tab in the Bazaar works very much the same way. I am not positive it is 7 days but there is a timer and after the the item is deleted.

I've asked for them to change the email that you get to remind you that you must remove your items from the stock room or re-sell them to avoid losing them.

It is very difficult for those of us who were playing merchants in November to understand how you guys don't know this. We went though a month of our items being deleted from our sales window every 14 days because of bug in the code. It was well discussed and known that the stock room had a 7 day limitation from our discussions back then. I don't say this because I believe you should know all this. I mention it as a mitigating factor about why we don't make a huge deal out of it. Its just something we know. I've put it in the new guide. And I've asked for email changes to notify you of the risk.

I dont see a timer on the items I have in my stockroom.. What sickens me is that I have a friend that lost alot of items on his vendor cause he left them in the stockroom to long... The problem I see here is that there is no warning or timer for items in the stockroom... Why is it we get an email when an item was unsuccessful in selling, but no warning that we have 7 days to remove the item from the stockroom?????? I would think they can add such a warning in the same email weare senton "Auction Unsuccessful"...... And I dont buy the crap the CSR's gave him that its listed on the knowledge base, cause we dont log into the game to read the knowledge base......

Lets get one thing straight.. Just because its discussed to hell on these forums doesn't mean that every merchant out there is going to know, or should know about the 7 day stockroom deletion. I spend as little time as possible here so I can enjoy the game more..With that said, tosearch for information on these boards or the knowledge base about a problem you had ingame is normally found out after the fact, whether its loss of credits because of a scam, or loss of items because of a 7 day deletion.. So your presumption that its my fault cause I should have read it on the boards or knowledge base is not only ignorant, but arrogant as well.

The true problem is that there is no warning to the deletion. We have timers on auctions and sales but no timer or warnings on the stockroom items themselves... I get emails when my harvesters start to decay, and when my factories are finished making items.. But no email that I have 1 day before 10 million credits worth of items is about to poof from my stockroom...That seems a little unfair to me no matter how you try to post it or knowledge base it. I don't play the game to log into the forums, nor do I log into the game to read a knowledge base.

At the very least, there needs to be a ingame disclaimer that you have 7 days to remove items from stockroom...

Try to follow along...

I know you don't know it. I don't expect you to know it. I was only explaining why the veterans don't think about it not being known. It was a huge deal for weeks. We just don't think about it. I didn't ask you to be aware or suggest you should be. I said I was asking them to put in more notification.

You know I never had any droughts that items would be deletes out of my stock room or from the bazaar if I did not pick them up. I knew that even before I came to the forums.
ANYONE that have the slightest interest in the merchant profession should read the in game help messages on the vendor interface as well as any holocron entries, and sections of the manual that are relevant.

Stupidity is no excuse.

well that explains where millions of my resrouces have gone... odd thing is items in the stock room have a 30day timer on them... so i fiugred they are good for at least 30 days... or else it owuldn't make sense fo rthem to have a 30day timer... well then again.. this is SOE.. and clearly after this patch, they've proved once again, they don't know what they are doing.

Doc, In addition to the email, getting them to actually display the "time remaining until poof" on vendors and the bazaar might be useful too, since the info is already in there.

I’ve been playing SWG for over a year now. I started playing in the final phase of beta testing. I’ve had a couple complaints here and there but mostly it was based on opinion of how things should be in the game. I come to the forums a bit but mostly the subjects I’m interested in are new concept and game design. I’m a huge Star Wars fan and have been since I saw the very first movie released in the theatre. I am in my 30’s now and do work every day so I would definitely call myself a casual gamer. I work in a job that often takes me out of town for business. The laptop I own won’t run SWG and I don’t think I am willing to shell out the money to purchase one that will. The point I’m trying to make is that although I don’t have nearly as many hours invested in SWG that some of the younger power gamers have, it’s still a large investment for me.

Recently I took a bit of a break from playing my Master Armor smith character on Corbantis. I had gotten tired of spending so much time crafting and harvesting that I just wanted to shoot things up for a bit. So I’ve been playing my Master CH/Master Pistoleer on Lowca. I made sure all my maintenance was paid up on Corbantis because I always planned on going back and eventually becoming one of the best armor smiths on that server. I had spent the last near building him up and collecting large quantities of the best resources I could find. I had well over 4 million units of resources that were all premium in quality. Most all of the desired stats were at least over 800 and some over 900. I had 100k unit stacks of 999 Conductivity copper stored for when I wanted to craft any tools and such. I always figured that I would at some point reach a point where I wouldn’t have to harvest anymore for materials because I would have the best available in stock.

This morning I happened to be up earlier than normal and decided to see what anniversary picture my armor smith received. It had been about a week and a half since the last time I logged on with him. I was just talking to a friend the other night about thinking I had enough of a break and was about ready to get serious about crafting again. Well, when I logged on this morning I decided to run around and make sure all my maintenance was still paid up. Yep, there was pretty much at least a couple months of maintenance paid on every thing. So, being the greedy person that I am I thought I would go and count my resources once again… Imagine my shock when I opened my vendor and saw it 100%, completely empty. Yes, over 4 million units of high quality resources were all gone. Panic stricken, I reopened my vendor about 20 times looking for it. I relogged only to find they were still not there. I placed a ticket and sat back, now furious. I decided to go into chat and see if there was a CSR on. Yes, there was and I promply received the standard “You’ll have to place a ticket and wait” response. Before he even had heard me out about my problem. But, yet I remained calm and polite to him.

After a bit of conversation he explained to me that any items that go into a stockroom will be destroyed after 7 days. At first I thought he was joking, but no, he was serious. Thinking he must be mistaken, I asked if anyone else in the room had heard of this. None of them had. I searched the holocron for any information available on this and found nothing. I looked in my manual and found nothing. I search the forums and there it was. Some other players were talking about this. I can’t believe that there would be such a thing with no warning. There is already an email that you receive when an item’s sale is unsuccessful. How hard would it be to add one more sentence to that email stating that any items that are transferred to the stockroom will be destroyed after 7 days?! This is totally irresponsible and unacceptable.

I now sit here and think to myself that there is no way I can go through and harvest all of that over again. If SOE won’t restore my resources they might as well have just deleted my character. I had far more time invested in harvesting these resources than I even had grinding my character up the skill trees to master armor smith. In this last year of playing I never once thought I would give up and leave the game. I thought I had finally found a game with enough depth to keep me busy for a very long time. Now I’m just discouraged enough that I can’t picture myself staying. I know this is a bit early since SOE hasn’t responded yet, but every person I’ve talked to has basically told me that SOE will not reimburse me. I don’t even know if they can reimburse me. I have no idea what exactly I lost or when it was all lost. I’ve been using the stockroom for stuff for months. God only knows what all has been lost. The only things I would even consider that would make me happy again would be to totally restore my resources or give me at least 40 million credits since I know I could have sold any of those materials for 10 cpu if not more. Or they could make my Lowca character FS. * laugh * Like they would ever do that.

Well, if they don’t lock this subject I’ll let you all know what happens.

I would like to know where it says in the holocron that items in the stockroom will be destroyed. I couldn't find it. I also think there is a vast number of SWG players that don't even know these forums exist. Many people walk into the store and buy the game and never look on the internet for any related information. It's just funny that there are such safe guards when it comes to destroying a building or deleting your character but virtually no warning about items in the stockroom being destroyed.
