So last night I got excited about placing my second Vendor, a humanoid instead of the Sprite Machine. So I placed the new vendor, initialised her, paid her some wages, made sure she worked and decided wouldn't it be good to have 2 Humanoid Vendors working for me?
So I removed of the items off of the Machine, into the Stockroom, figuring that I successfully swappedsome items between the 2 vendors from the Stockroom, so this must be a constant spot.
And now the stupid thing for those who haven't clicked yet, I deleted the Machine Vendorand guess what happened? No prizes for guessing, I lost everything in the Stockroom over 75 items including 2 x Twin Cluster Force Crystals, a DXR6 Schematic, 7 Items of high end BE clothing and a shag load of other stuff, about 2.5 million worth of gear I have collected over the last 10 months. I was shocked , stunned and furious when I realised what had happened , so I sat crying into my Scotch (not literally just figuratively, you don't water down good scotch)

Try doing a CSR ticket. Worth a shot to see if you can get it back.
It's an honest mistake.

Think of it as a "stockroom interface" instead of an actual common location for the items.
They're still in the individual vendor stockrooms, you're just seeing them all together.
When you put them back on sale, they'll go back to the vendor they came from.
That's why it's always a good idea to select the "this vendor" filter option just to be certain that it is indeed empty.
Personally, I wish I could set it to default to this filter. It would save me a mouse click every time I look at a vendor.

Thanks for the help folks,
I shall try out the CSR ticket and see what happens, (I'll let you know)
BTW Elyssa, I know you didn't say it but I thought I would get in just before anyone else did
Cheers

We all do stupid things and end up with big loses at least once in this game. I'm guilty of a couple myself. You have my sympathy and I hope the CSR thing works.

You are not stupid. We all do things that make us wanna cry in our scotch. Don't cry, just down the scotch and grab another glass!
I think I like this! What a neat way to refer to Ol' Bulky.

It's not even a stupid mistake, really. The vendor interface really does make it look like there's a single stockroom for all your vendors. Your only fault was being naive enough to believe that the game wouldn't do its utmost to lose your stuff.
I always operate under the assumptionthat the game is actively trying to delete data, and I haven't had any problems yet.

You are so cynical
I did that with my first vendor back in beta and even bugged it at the time. I wish vendors wouldn't allow themselves to be deleted with items in the stock room. And had a way to dump those items if you wanted to delete them. It takes 3 button clicks and typing in a number to delete a harvester that is EMPTY and a vendor can be removed with 2 clicks and no real way to know you are losing items.

I've done that when i was first starting out, i assumed that since i could withdraw the item from another vendor that it was shared and lost them. I was lucky and didn't lose too much.
However, now i've noticed i can't withdraw items from a vendor in the same region so they must have changed that nice 'feature'.
