Ok. I need to generate a report on the various issues and wishes for email notifications for merchant vendors and their customers. I want your input and feedback on what emails make sense, what doesn't, and where we need emails and we aren't getting them.
Please try to avoid flaming posts about bugs and other issues and try to just give me your opinion about what emails are important and what events aren't generating emails.
Right now from memory:
CURRENT
1. (Customer) You have Purchased Item (Not sure why this is here except to remind you to pick it up)
2. (Customer) Item has been purchased (from offer)
3. (Customer) Item has been rejected (from offer)
4. (Merchant) Item has been Purchased
5. (Merchant) Purchased Item (From Offer REMOVE)
6. (Merchant) Item Expired (from withdrawal REMOVE)
7. (Merchant) Item Expired (From Sales PUT IN WARNING ABOUT 7 DAY DELETION)
8. (Merchant) Auction Expired (Deleted item.. BUGGED AND CONFUSING)
NEEDED
1. (Merchant) Item has been offered
2. (Customer) Item has Expired (from Offer)
Corrections additions....

I'm not sure if so much "needed" but would be a strong "nice-to-have" ...
The ability to send a customized auto-reply email when something is purchased. The email is already send confirming the purchase, I would like to see an option of adding to that email with a custom message from the Merchant.
Other than that, my biggest issue is not being alerted when someone makes an offer - but you mentioned that already.

I wouldn't mind a custom message myself but I am trying to limit this particualr report to just the system messages in an effort to get them fixed and cleaned up a bit.

One more needs to be added.
(merchant) Vendor out of maintains (including the condition of the vendor).
I know that currently they just keep selling, but it might not stay like that forever.
Also when the promised removal of empty vendors come along we need this one.
(merchant) Empty Vendor removed from Global Registration.

Good ideas, specially about the removal of emails for actions you did yourself. They are a pain

I wouldn't mind the removal of emails that are triggered by actions I myself have taken. For example, the email resulting from purchasing an item off a vendor, or from cancelling a sale.

I could be wrong on this but I thought last night I recieved an email advising me that someone had made an offer to my vendor. When I bought it I received the usual confirmation emails. One of these suggestions seems to be working already.

As per this topic...
Add the vendor location to the offer expired and offer rejected emails that the "custimor" gets, as well as the vendor name.

- make sure that there is the wp attached in everything, especially for unsuccesful auctions and rejected offers
- auction expired - needs to be fixed
- customers need to get a mail when what they didnt withdraw expires... not us
- merchant - item has been offered
- general - warning in the unsuccessful auction mails that the item will be destroyed after 7 days
All I can think of for now.

Half the time I get a "you have sold Fleshwrap to blah blah" which is the generic item name instead of "You have sold fleshwrap (red) to blah blah", my custom name that I typed in when crafting. Trust me, knowing what color has sold is so much more useful.

I think there already is an "item you offered has expired email" for the person who offered the item (unless you mean the merchant who was offered the item should get a notice as well?)
I returned a schematic to a friend by offering it to his vendor and sent him an email. A month later though I got an email that the "sale was unsuccessful" (or some such). The email was worded confusingly...not any different than a regular unsuccessful email if I remember correctly. It took me a while to realize it was my OFFER that had not sold. In that sense, the email could certainly be clearer.
Your list looks good though.

Any pattern I might be able to point me to to help nail when this happens?
