I noticed today that all my items on all Vendors I currently have when up by 10% cost. Is this a tax being added in?

When I added some more items sure enough the 10% was figured in. I am currently operating 3 Vendors and all my prices have gone up by 10%.

Sorry if this is a common question...but the FAQ didn't mention this and the search feature sucks..heh

I am in a player city which is a Metropolis/Research so not sure if this is responsible either... : /

Your city has a sales tax, and it's probably 1%, not 10%. 1% on a 1000cr item makes it 1010cr. The tax is automatically paid to the city.

Well my powerups went from 1500cr to 1650cr....that seems like 10%.

Likewise my resources for sale were 50k and are now 55k.

If my city is charging a 10% tax then I'm outta there...but I want to make sure it's not something else before I do that.

talk to your mayor. But it's very likely there's a tax. I'm surprised your mayor would just add a tax like that without sending a e-mail to the citizens.

I would suggest you talk calmly and productively with the mayor and suggest that a 10% sales tax is move than you can bear and stay in his city. A more reasonable tax would be somewhere between 2-6% Personally if you live there you should be willing to allow a modest and reasonable tax rate to help pay for the enormous costs of running a city. Even a modest township can run 200k a week or better.

Whenever a tax change (sales, property, income) is made by the Mayor for the city, an email should be generated to the entire populace of the city.

I have noticed with my vendors that if I place one, and place items on it, the income tax is not added in until the server goes through a restart. After the restart, the prices are updated to include the sales tax for the city.

Did you recently set up your vendors?

The change is supposed to be immediate when you place items on it. My venders were delayed doing it for a while too but now update immediately. I don't think it is a server reset. I think it is just lag in the update being made to the prices.

My NEWLY PLACED vendors still require a server reboot in order to include the tax. AFTER said reboot, the prices are updated, and anything new placed on them are then correctly priced to include the sales tax.

And I just set up a new vendor a day or 2 ago, and the problem remained.

Mine were doing that too for a while but they don't do it any more, they update as I put the items on. I don't know why they sometimes don't update. I never noticed it being a server reset though when mine were doing it. It was several hours though.

You can also check the city statistics (including taxes) at the city terminal in the City Hall.
