Thread: Boo me! Go ahead! But read this!

This whole vendor nerf / fix / whatever it is is just one large lump of coal in my stocking! And its on the verge of falling off the wall from all the other coal lumps SOE has recently put in it. They seem dead set on alienating EVERY profession / player / customer they have. First their gonna nerf all combat, buffs, and armor into oblivion to force us to have to hunt together and argue over who gets the CDEF rifle.Then their gonna stop recursive macros so it takes even LONGER to master crafting skills (not to mention how stupid it is that xp depends on the amount of resources it takes to make an item, not difficulty of the item itself). And now their gonna limit my vendor to 50 items to free up database room, when all they need to do is delete all the empty damn vendors on the servers once the stock hits 0 , and theyll save a ton of room on the servers. THEN they announce their pushing most/all of this back till after JTL... my fighters limbo, my mules inability to craft quickly, and my mules ability to provide wares for players... thats you. Their pushing all this back why? the answer is money. they want you to buy JTL BEFORE you quit the game. They want your $50 per upgrade. And they want it for a game that doesnt even look like it will be the same game that I loved playing for almost a year.


I say this... shame on you SOE. You people should be trying to make people LOVE this game, and you are going backwards. 13 months ago I dropped my UO account like a bad habit to play SWG. Now ... its hard to remember why.

getting around the macro loop will be childsplay... from what i understand they are simply nerfing the looping of macros. Maybe im wrong, but if its just the loop its a peice of cake to get around.

Anyway, of late things have been getting really bad, as far as the quality of the game goes. I think that allready a lot of people exited about JTLS have changed their minds, i for one will not be playing by the release of JTLS.

When i bought this game the manual said i would be able to do many things that i so far have not been able to do (GCW for example) i have been holding out for a long time for things to get better, things have gotten worse, in every respect. Now this... This is not a game it would be more fitting to call it a beta release. Nothing works, devs are doing the kind of refining that usually happens in betas while we try to make the best of it and hope that it will all be ok by release... funny, but that would seem to fit into what you said about soe wanting us to buy JTLS.. betas over, time to buy the game.

I think this will be my last week of SWG, this particular nerf will have many knock on effects on the way we 'try' to play the game, added ontop of every other dissatisfaction i have since purchasing SWG i am considering changing to Matrix online, where at least i can know kung fu O_o

hun all of us agree with you we feel it to we wait for things to get fixed it never happens.

they make a patch that breaks what use to work.

what little enjoyment i had in the game will be taken away with the vender nerf.

i a doctor that asks donations not the 10k up for a buff.

i enjoy helping fellow players and have fun hunting.

to keep doctor and sell my meds cheep i need what little areas i have if i have to drop my vender then why be a doctor or any other profession, so why play the game.

and ill be dammed if im going to eq2


i ll find another game thats not a sony game. get all my freinds to say good bye to this game.

which will break my heart i love star wars but according to the box the game came in this is notthe game i bought.

i am sorry to see you go but beleave me i do understand.

Think you have missed the point of an MMO its called massive mulptiplayer for areason there is no multiplayif soloing is how its played.The game was also never intended to be the way it is atm soits going to getfixed not nerfed.They need tofix itto the point where peoplewith your soloing attitudeeither team up or leave the damn game, cause yourdefinately not MMO material.

hun i play with a vast number of folks i have over 100 on my friends list.

we run mission we do raids we are more involved with the war then you know.

but atthe same time they are taking what was a great game and nerfing not fixing nerfing it to death if this vender thing goes though look me up in 6 months tell me what your paying for you stuff and if your happy.

The vendor issue is a nerf indeed and a game wrecker at that hardly anybody disputes that, the changes to buffs/armor/weapons promised in Combat Revamp are not nerfs but highly needed fixes todirect this game into where it needs to be as an MMO, where people need to cooperate wich in turn will create an actual server community beyond just guilds.

No! I think you have missed the point on this one. The point is that SOE is ALWAYS nerfing, and not fixing.Off the top of my head, here are a few items that they still havent fixed or went around by nerfing.The Smuggler profession to start with, THEY DONT SMUGGLE.Minefields were broke and they fixed itby only allowing minefields around bases.And of course the Merchant vendors, if they need space just delete the Damm bazzar.

I really have enjoyed playing this game, but like many, I have been waiting for them to fix it . People have spent many hours on these forums telling SOE what they would like from the game,some items have happended, but most have not.

The point of this again is money. Sony and Lucasarts don't have enough money to expand their servers for this game.PLEASE!!!!! Also as far as MMo is concerned,this game has aplayer based economy and if you limit the amount a vendor can stock, people will quit the profession or the game.THIS ISA GAME, NOT A PART-TIME JOB.

I wouldnt mind grouping if the autosplit worked, and the loot was worth getting. but as it is you fight like hell for 3 hours to be lucky to get something useful. they need to boost loot quality, and frequency.


As for the fixes... its a crying shame that the best shot I ever got as a 3/0/3/2 pistoleer was the one I got at novice pistoleer. For health shot two to do more damage than body shot three is a JOKE. The smuggler revamp id like to see ASAP, but I guess Ill get to see if shortly after SWG's 2 year anniversary... Even the twits @ UO could fix stuff, and do updates with some expediancy. SOE is just TOO slow. they never NEVER should have mentioned the combat revamp to us. then to push it back... My character is EXACTLY the way I like him. it took me a year to find the skills and balance that i wanted. and with the balance they basically told us " hey... your character might suck in 2-3 months, haha!". And to push it back farther... it is torture. if I gotta have surgery do it tomorrow not in 6 months. I can deal with "as is" alot better than "might be". This is limbo.

I think carbineers are supposed to be the state change class, but from what I've heard it's quite broken.



To those saying that you shouldn't have to group if you don't want to, I respectfully disagree. Some people do like to group, and they want to have group level content. Some people seem to think though that all content should be available to everyone. If this was true, then all content would be balanced to the solo player, and groups would have nothing challenging to do.

Here is another person telling me how to play a game. Massive Multiplayer simply means that a lot of people can be in the game at the same time. Don't read into that any more than what it says. It doesn't mean that those people have to interact, or socialize. It just means that we can all see each other playing the game. We don't have to be "team players" or even get along with each other. Now, it is certainly possible to gather together into social groups or teams, but it is not necessary. The pointof an MMORPG is to gain the randomness of having multiple people on at the same time. This removes the linearity that exists in the earlier video games.


The point of the game is to have fun, doing whatever you think is fun. Don't dictate to me what I should be doing to have fun. If I would tell you that it is fun to stand for hours in your house, all by yourself, planning which resources to use for a particular crafting project, you would probably say something rude. But for me, that is fun. If you tell me that the only way to have fun is to run around with a lot of other people, shooting whatever moves, getting diseased and poisoned and ending up in the cloning center a lot, I would probably say something rude.


Play the game as you enjoy it, and I will play the game as I enjoy it. Don't make assumptions as to the "correct" way of playing.

Fools who want to spout nonsense of their vision of soe's vision of this game aside....yes, anything near the currently proposed item limit will hurt the entire player base and people will leave in larger numbers than ever before. I will be among them.


If this kind of rubbish development forces me to close shops and leave, I too will do my best to never play another soe game. I dealt with five years of eq bs, but honestly nothing this severe ever happened there. I already don't want to play eq2, so save that suggestion. When does the new Tribes come out?
