It is official. The hotfix to repair the 14 day bug and the stockroom bug (things sold from stockroom only having 7 day timers instead of 30) will be hotfixed. In addition to that Blair says they will try to restore items deleted by this on Saturday.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you who helped get this bug fixed by being patient and detailing your experiences in great calm detail.

Hmm, I've moved in the time between the loss now. There's still a merchant tentvendor 50mfrom the old house locationbut I wonder if they'll need the same vendor ID number or something for an automatic restore...I might be <bleep> outa luck with the refund.

There are a lot of questions about the restoration that they are going to try to do. They admit up front that it won't get everyone. We'll find out more today.

This can only be a good thing... I hope it's a nice, clean fix they have for it.

Fortunately, most of my losses are relatively low-value items, I don't really have droids that stick around two full weeks as a rule.

Yes I hope so too

I have forwarded the question about items on vendors that don't exist any more. I'll forward any answers I get to you all as soon as possible. I warn you to expect the worst in that situation but hope for the best.

As a general rule I would advise anyone who has an ongoing issue with a vendor to not delete that vendor unless they ar willing to give up the items or credits that are in dispute. Sort of like driving away from the scene of an accident..tough to present your case if you destroy part of the evidence.

So, how's this looking this morning? I didn't have time to login before work (too busy shoveling snow, /grumble).

My vendors were deleted when I moved shops (before I knew the scope of the disappearing items problem) so I figure my items are gone forever. Maybe I will be pleasantly surprised and they will come up with some sort of solution.

Except its more like sitting at the scene of an accident for 5 days, having the police not come to the scene when you report it, getting your wrecked car junked by a tow company, and then using your own money for a a new car, and THEN have the police come to the site of the accident and go "Nope, no accident here 5-6 days ago".

Anyhoo, this is good news for most people. Unfortunately I moved shop since I figured it was a good time while I didn't have a huge inventory anymore. Maybe we *can* get a /vendorstocksave command in the near future to help with CSR resolutions. Personally that would help on many different fronts.

Although restoring lost items isn't an easy thing or fool proof, you have to commend them for noticing the problem and attempting to fix it within a reasonable amount of time.
