Thread: *** BARKING MERCHANT DROIDS... Problems?***
Droids, creature pets and vehicles self store silently at random, and have since launch. It isn't very frequent, but really irritating, and seems to happen in the same places a lot.
Having your barking droid store isn't quite as serious as having your attack pet store just before you go into combat, or discovering that your vehicle stored just when you need a fast getaway, but most merchants don't suffer those problems very often.
Perhaps they will fix it one day. We can add it to the merchant bug list now, but it has bothered everybody else for a long time.

I've defintiely seen this with Pets..I attributed it to server boundry weirdness becuase it always would happen when I was on the move in certain places. I've never actually had a droid do that to me but the use the same basic code.
It has gotten worse since the new patch. It has also be an unsolved CH issue since open beta. Now it looks like it is everyone's issue
There seems to be little ryhme or reason to what causes storage of the droid or not.
I have a Protocol droid I was using that I left on Corellia, went to Dantooine, back to Corellia (through a different city than the droid was in), hit Tattoine, stopped in Theed to pick something off of the bazaar, and made it back when the droid had 10% power left and he was fine.
I have a BLL that when I use it to bark disapears as soon as I get 800m away.
Later I went back to the Protocol droid, and it didn't drop while I was on the same planet, but it disapeared as soon as I reached another.
In any case, it's not about the barker module, it's about pets autostoring.
My advice is to group with your droid - when it poofs your group will disband, so at least you will have some sort of notification.
