Will the vendors and all the items on them disappear? Will they stay but will I only be able to remove items? Anyone on test center know?

Items will fall to storerroom in 1-30 days after Patch 10.

You have 7 days to remove them from storeroom or they will be deleted.

You cannot put them on "For Sale" again without merchant or artisan 3 skill.

2 weeks after your vendor is empty it will vanish (dont forget to get your remaining maintenance money out).

Have fun

Vendors will stay

If they are advertised and yu no linger have the skill they will come off the map

Items will stay on the vendor and not be destroyed

You will no longer be able to add more items to sell.

You will not be able to move from the stock room to sell

There is no official word from the Devs regarding this. Are these conjectures being made due to experiences on TC?

I would hope that the vendor would keep the items but would not be able to sell or be accessed by other than its owner until it is rendered legitimate by skill acquisition and having a stock within the permissible item limit of the owner.

Example: An NPC vendor is owned by someone with no artisan or merchant skills. It has 7k items on it. I would hope that since the vendor type requires novice merchant that it wouldn't work as a vendor until both Novice Merchant skills were possessed and the items were removed to be below the cap applicable to the player's skill set.

I have no idea if it will work that way or not though. We are all awaiting word from the devs.

I also think that you won't be able to restock it if you lack the skill for that vendor or are already over the limit.

I agree with what the 2 first people said. What they are saying logically runs from the patch notes.

  • Vendor item limits will now be based on player skill. (Players over either limit will not be able to add new items for sale on vendors).

  • The patch notes don't say anything about getting rid of vendors, making them inaccessible or anything else. The only affect stated is that you can't offer new items for sale..

Pardon me, but isn't he saying that he shouldn't be allowed to run vendors because he's "unlearned" all the skills that allowed him to have vendors?

I don't think he's asking about item quantity limits.

I was under the impression that if you surrendered the skill, the merchants would poof.

It was suppose to happen, but it didn't. People leveled up their merchant abilities, got vendors, put them on the global map, then forgot all of the Merchant skills. Now many who have done this are confronted with the fact that they will no longer be able to use Merchant abilities without paying the skill points for them.

The original poster wants to know that if he doesn't have ANY merchant abilities, will he lose all vendors and items. Current conjecture is "No, but you won't be able to put anything new onto the vendor".

    >>>

Vendors that have been left empty or abandoned for two weeks will be deleted (owner will receive a warning message prior to deletion).

    >>>

The note above is a quote from the Patch 10 notes:

If the poster has no artisan 3 or merchant skill his items will fall from "For sale" to "Storeroom".

Without skills he cannot put them on "For Sale" anymore.

He can pull them out of storeroom and store them elsewhere.

After 7 days in storeroom items will be automatically deleted.

That means after a maximum of 37 days his vendors will be empty - one way or the other.

Two weeks after that his vendors will be deleted.

Does that answer the question once and for all ?

That is how it works right now on TC based on the patch notes and testing that has been conducted and also based on my discussions with the Devs about how this works. The only parts that are really new are:

    1. You can't put items up for sale if you are over your item limit or over your vendor limit (based on the Manage Vendor Skill mod) (Patch notes and tested on TC)

    2. Vendors with no items in them are deleted after two weeks (from the patch notes)

What if you "custimized" you vendors, but now you don't have the skills to custimize them, but do have the skills to support those types of vendors?
