Thread: Poll: Who intends to quit crafting if vendor cap goes live?

I completely agree with removing empty vendors, can even understand removing vendors where the owner doesn't have the requisite skills. But I do not and will never ever agree with the item cap. I will drop crafting, and likely drop this game into my "CD's make great frisbees" bin.

As a Master Artisan, MasterArchitect with Novice Merchant I can place 2 vendors. In the new system that would allow me 220 items. Now for the last several months I've had between 300 and 500 items on my two vendors, and I've barely been crafting. What do I do about furniture? I mean there are nearly 50 different types, so do I put 2 of everything on the vendor, then restock everytime someone actually buys some? (sorry bit angry about how totally useless and cookie cutter furniture is). Just the various types of Extractors can make up a huge amount of items on a vendor. I shouldn't have to give up combat altogether just so I can go Master Merchantand place enough vendors to maintain a viable business.

Thats fine, you don't think raising the visibility of peoples displeasure is a good thing? Keep everything in one thread and it gets "archived" like the 64 page outcry when they announced the "push back" of the combat balance.

I don't think any of this will affect anything as far as SOE goes they'll still go ahead with the cap. I wrote this to get a general idea for myself, in a thread easy to keep track of.

Work with me , just woke up to this nightmare.

With the limit caps, does a pack with 10 pieces of armor in it count as 1 item, or 11?
I predict with these limits, like others, that the avaliability of items will go down substantially, while the prices may have a slight increase. For instance just with armor, the time needed just to make a 37stun 66base armor on tempest server is almost 8 hrs just for the stun layers, add the segments, then the suits, if a 0-0-3-0 artisian, only has 50 items and each piece counts instead of a pack, that is 5 suits of armor at any given moment. Time is money, not being greedy, but none of us like to baby sit vendors, or do hand built suits durring my play time. More clarification needs to be made. This looks like the end of the sub 10k stack on private vendors of resources, rareity on single items, a raise on teh accross the board on prices, and an even widening of the have vs the have nots.

You can count me out, i will just hoard thy resources till jumpssss when the dev says jump, when the space expan goes live, so i can continue to beta test

It'll only count as 1 item not 10 like most people think it would.

most likely if it only counts as one, it would be considered a bug and fixed so that a 10 item bag counts as 11. the purpose is to reduce the massive inventories of players, so they surely wouldn't let a simple idea like that get past them...

Well ... proably not going to "quit" ... but if I have to live at my vendor to keep it stocked, I will be raising my prices substantially.

i already quite crafting basicly after a year of it,, burnt out.. well still make droids,, a day here and there to keep a well stocked droid vendor aint bad,..

Im a reseller now,, Weapons and clothing, meds for adventurer marts... to me what being a merchant is... stores all over the galaxies making a small % or the total sales... with limits like this,, my stores that sold about 500 items and had nice slections,, are now total crap.,.. wtg...

soo where you could once stop in get a nice weapon, some stims, a few crates of power ups and maybe some moun.. or the random item,. droid maybe i put up a house one day cause i had one.. what ever im selling for 3-4 craters... not taking over the galaxie,,its one store thats nice to shop.. in places there are not other stores. Im not a just out side of town guy, though i have one on tat : ) Im an out in the boonies no vendors for 3k in any directions kinda merchant.. my store is great for the adventurer that is in need while in the wilds.. guess not anymore
