Merchant:
- Increase Merchant experience by 15%
- Modify Hiring by 20.00 points

Any Merchant on TC who could test that?
Especially what the 20 points do for a Master Merchant

For the Muscian and Dancer ones (Instrument use and Prop use) it lets you use instruments/props +20 above your level, so this shouldn't effect Master Merchants, just let the Hiring 4 folks get the Master-level Vendors for example.

What the hell good is that? so the moment the buff is gone thier vendors become as though they cant do master level stuff again? why not make it something more useful to a merchant?

how about a buff that gives us +20 credits per transaction?

So much for a Smuggler revamp, maybe they should just rename us, it would take less time and be easy to do.
"Useless" would be my first choice as a name suggestion.

of course at this point there is no reason to revamp anything. SOE should just shut the game off.

hiring allows for placement of a type of vendor {like NPCinstead of terminal},
people routinely climb this line set a vendor and drop it, so this is actually very practical for many dabblers

so now they are encouraging dabblers to do it with out actually spend the skill points? can anyone remind me why i am a merchant? why dont they give all players the ability to buff each other into what ever amount of inspiration it takes to become master whatever we want and then we can all be anything? what is the point of this new buff system? heck, why not just make every one jedi and be done with it? it seems that this is the only thing they are paying any kind of attention to.

I've already voiced these concerns and a couple of others as well.

In fact, I suggested that for the duration of the buff, all vendors you created DID NOT use the extended ID color palette and improved your chances of making an "attractive" vendor.

I just love the fact that the poor soul who is Master, template 'locked', and do not glow nor are FS
are getting so much extra XP.... what a incentive to go watch a performance, what an insult..

I have had my XP capped for well over what, 10 months or so...XP has zero meaning for me, or my masters held.

{btw anyone see the great crafter bonus' yet? like Tailors getting a bonus to experment and resource value? oh yeah I have been laughing all day...}

sorry elyssa, i dont mean to rain on everyones fun, but i am just so confused with the directions that this game is taking.

i wanted to be a smuggler and merchant so that i could have fun flying and selling and smuggling goods. dodging star destroyers, dumping cargo, skimming asteroids, but this game is getting harder to understand every time they decide to add an expansion, replace a system or tweak a profession.

phhhhtttt.....

huuuh. when are the devs going to listen to the players? are there really that many people who think the CU was a great change? are there really that many brain dead people who want to play jedi in this game? why? there are so many other kinds of professions, and jedi are done so much better in other games. watching a jedi battle in this game makes me think of Star Wars Chess.

/rant off

sorry... just frustrated, annoyed, perturbed, aggrivated and dissappointed...

It would be much better if the merchant buff made your merchants look 20% less ugly for the duration of the buff. Kind of like getting everyone drunk who wanders into your shop...

Those 20 extra hiring points are pretty useless for master merchant as is. It would help if somehow MM got an extra use for that as more choices in the races of our hired help or maybe the ID possibility that was discussed in another thread.

My understanding about how this works is that there is just a set of templates and they randomly select one of them. The vendors don't have individualized appearance data like player characters do. That is why the Vendor ID idea has never come to pass, it would require recoding the way the appearance works.

I don't actually mind the +20 Hiring but then I've never considered it all that important to the profession.

And to carry that a step farther, it compelled them to spend 20% more money!
