Perhaps for the duration of the buff, item storage on a merchant's droid is increased by 30 items, and with a barker module installed, the droid can then act as a mobile vendor. I remember the idea of mobile vendors and barkers back in 03...

Or perhaps for the duration of the buff, the structure containing the merchant's vendor lights up, or has a neon, light-up vegas style sign over it.

Or perhaps the merchant himself during the duration of the buff has the ability to add an extra "Title" over his head that acts as an advertisement.

Just some ideas.

Anyhow, the look/ID of a vendor is not essential nor enherent to the success of the merchant class. Back from my "break" from the game, and my first impressions about IDing vendors being an issue are not encouraging me any.

Take it from an old schooler, ID is not something you should put high on the wish list if you want the Devs to actually do any serious overhaul on the profession. The Devs are more interested in adding new content than them going back and recoding 2 years worth of work that barely works as-is. Psuh for a "vendor pet." Push for a scout styled, modile merchant tent. Push for merchant PEPs that can be placed in any NPC/Player Citydespite zoning rights (remember Sony said they want PCs to be "open" to all players and not private). Push for additional vendor choices. And most of all, push for things that do NOT give non-masters the ability to do things that masters can do. No one should receive the benefits of something that costs skill points without actually spending the skill points. The XP increase: good. The hiring skill increase: bad. As for an increase to money: never gonna happen. All good MMORPGs need money sinks, and an increase to money contradicts the money sink idea, and in this game, with the inflated economies as bad as they are, the last thing we need is more money floating around out there.

Just my 2 cents worth based on playing the game since launch. And yes, for those of you who haven't met me before, I've been a master merchant since the begining. I just tend not to open my mouth unless something really needs to be said.

What the hell good is that? so the moment the buff is gone thier vendors become as though they cant do master level stuff again? why not make it something more useful to a merchant?

how about a buff that gives us +20 credits per transaction?

Once a vendor is set and set up it retains those abilities, even if you later go and drop the ability.
