Seems to me like the not so hidden agenda here is to force a price war. I wonder how many crafters will be forced out of business and leave the game?
People are resourceful. If they want to adapt, they will.
Unfortunately, many are just so sick of this crap that they will simply quit crafting/selling, or even the game itself.

- Item Name
- Minimum Price
- Maximum Price
Gave it the worst test possible, Factory crates of Mark III Proton missiles. In name: proton iii (reversed on purpose), no prices, entire galaxy. I got 2 pages of results, no duping. It listed everything with proton and iii, capitalization or place in the name didn't matter. So it found the Mark III Proton missiles, but also Mark III missile, Proton.
Second test, Ship chassis, A-wing. Got 5 pages with A-wings, cheapest was 50k at 65k mass, most expensive was 400k at 63k mass. So I "saved" 350k and "gained" 2k mass.
Third test, aluminum. Selected inorganic mineral, name: Aluminum, min price 100.000, max price 200.000. Got a nice list of grinding aluminum and small stacks of quality stuff.
Fourth test, best copper ever on Eclipse, Ysukomi. Search delivered only one stack. I assume the rest has been bought in the past weeks by the die-hard vendor searchers.
Fifth test, Brandy. Got 6 pages of brandy, sortable by price. Details were mostly incorperated in the name.
My opinion: For the customers it's perfect. Price gougers are gone now which is good overall. For merchants: Advertising line for merchant is only good now for the +1000 items at Master. As for disappearing items when you get there, the good deals are easy to find now, so they'll be gone fast. With this search system the only way to make advertising viable again would be to put the enable vendor search option in it. Spam droids, map listings, it's all small stuff compared to this.
