They never mentioned the Name filter in hotfix notes. I actually like it. And they fixed the duplicate items and page numbers. Now 1-100/100-200 etc etc.

Now they just have to fix how items are ranked

Min and Max price search....... BLEH, how about giving people using the Baz terminals the ability to type in an item name to help better refine the searches for items or am I so new that I couldn't even see that option? I hate having to go through 10 pages to hunt down just the 1 item name I was looking for in the first place.

You can now, there is a box so you can search for say X-Wing or YT-1300

Well, sort of. I was looking for AT-ST Pilot's helmet under Generic Items and the search turns up nothing. So I look at the the Generic Items list unfiltered and there are, at least, 4 on the second page. So I search for Pilot, as in AT-ST Pilot's Helmet, again, nothing. So I search on Pil, nothing, then I search on lot and I get "Schematic: Crafter's Apron" (along with ALL of the other looted schematics for tailors), which as everyone knows "lot" is silent in that name and therefore it's not necessary to include those letters in the spelling (sarcasm).

The first thing I did, as a Shipwright, was search on YT-1300 and nothing was returned even though I had just made one and put it on my vendor. I even helped the search out and narrowed the category to Ship Chassis.

Seriously, do they even TEST the code before they release it???????

Thought I would add, it only took me about 1 minute to test the YT-1300 thing to see that it doesn't work. How hard would it be for the programmers to do that??

I'll add another search. I was looking for "Blue" andthe search actually returned some items with the word blue in it along with "Small Power Motor".

I did a few test runs. Check by spawn name 'Ylo' duralloy. Found that well enough. Searched for carbines and Nym's Slugthrowers showed up (in addition to other carbines). Searched paintings and all crafted, looted and quested paintings and posters showed up. I'm not sure how it all works. I suspect there's a hidden flag with some of these things, because the paintings are furniture and generic items. Most things seem to be searchable based on a keyword in their bazaar displayed name. So while you can search for a specific spawn name, you can't search for duralloy. It's a weird system.

Well, as critical as I've been of SOE about this feature, some of you are going to wonder if this is really me -- and I DO feel a bit like a heretic....

I like it. I could live without the min-max, but the name search is awesome, since it works from my vendors. No more tedious searching to find out "do I have garages for every planet on my vendors?" and "Do I have Naboo City Halls on the Naboo vendor?"

Punch in City Hall or Garage, and presto! I have the answer.

I like.

I still dislike the prices being listed but at least they've given some functionality to an "actual" search.

It reminds me of an old saying: "Why is there never enough time to do it right the first time but always time to do it over?"

I think the whole global listing issue would have been much better received by the community if they had thought the whole thing through and gave us an effective and fully functional first attempt rather than try to scramble and fix the mess after it's already been dumped on us.

Agreed. Might have been better if they threw the merchants a carrot or two in the process. Sadly that didn't happen.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Was very sleathly fixed, but well received. Shame they couldn't admit that is was borked to start with. Using the search seems to fix the duplicates items too, so I am happy.

I am still not happy about the way the 'results' are sorted. Oldest Vendor first. I have been succesfully running my business for near on a year and since this went live my sales are at about 10% of what they have been. If I only I could make the first page of the GVS...
