There were no changes to the checks for the hiring skills. The only thing that is checked is whether you have the required amount of "Manage Vendor" skills to run the vendors you have. If you don't you can't add things for sale to your vendor until you have the right skills for the number of vendors you have.

But i think i wrote wrong at thread title (i cannot change yet).
It must be "Will i lose Ithorian vendor even if i drop merchant hiring skills?"
For example i'm 4-4-4-4 merchant and i have only 2 vendors and they are both Ithorian NPC vendors.
Then i drop hiring skills and i'm 4-4-0-4 merchant.
Will i lose Ithorian vendors or items which included in it. Or?
Thanks,

Ok I see what you are asking, if you have a certain TYPE of NPC vendor and no longer have the skills to have that TYPE but do have either bus 3 or 4 or novice merchant which would allow you to have vendors, will you loose the ability to manage that type of NPC vendor. Good question. With all the other stuff going around it's hard to tell. I personally dont have an issue with keeping a type of vendor atm so long as you can have that number of vendors. But there again, that is a 'skill' to have those types, so dunno what the answer will be to that one.

Hi,
I'm master merchant and i started to drop skills firstly with advertising.
I have 2 Ithorian vendors and i have plan to stay novice merchant for a while. And i will have ability to have 2 vendors. I will not destroy my Ithorians and can i use these Ithorians even if i'm novice merchant at patch10?

Very good question. I've been trying to find the answer to this for quite some time. It would be nice and convenient if they just let it be, kind've like the image designer bug where you could give mon cal hair. Or if they provided a mechanism to downgrade vendors.
Anyway, I'll probably play it safe by leveling up to novice merchant and dropping the big green meanie and transferring my items to it. I hate to give up my bootyful mon cal vendor, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

DocSavag, i have a question if you dont mind. i didnt see this posted anywhere and not sure where to post it. lets say for example there is a master doc with one master combat profession and novice scout with harvest box 1. that ties up all the skill points. the doc goes out and harvests lots of herbivore meat for meds. the doc then comes back and drops the scout and a little of his combat master to get business 3 for a vendor. makes the meds and puts on the vendor till the next shift of meat (or mineral or flora) he then drops the business3takes back up the scout and gets more ingredients for his crafting to collect the new material comes back and goes back up business. anyhow i hope you see what im trying to show. will the vendor stand there with the items still in it untill the person gets business 3 back? i hope what im asking makes sense

The vendor won't go anywhere but you can't put any more items on it until after you get the skill back. It is certainly possibe to do it that way.

Ok..first off the changes we are all talking about are only on TestCenter and TC2 right now. Not live. That will be soon..next week or later.
Second..it doesnt' matter what TYPE of vendor you have. The only thing that matters is that you have enough "Manage Vendor" skill for the number of vendors you have. (They are adding to the total number you can have too so even if you are a bit low now you might not be after the change)

Yes. The vendors will check for 2 things:
1. Do you have enough "Manage Vendor" Skill to run the vendors you have
2. Are you beneath your allowed Item limit
If either of those is not true then you will be prevented from putting anything up for sale. Your vendor will continue to sell things to your customers and you can still receive offers (as far as I am aware) You simply won't be able to add new items for sale.
If the server only checks those two items....what is to stop people from climbing to Adv III, put their vendors on the map then surrendering the Adv certs?
