Thread: Bazaar Cap Increase
Well... keep in mind that with the removal of decay from PvP more people will be willing to try it out. With that said hopefully these people will also see the benefits of the goods were pushing.. eh... selling.. ![]()
Supply and demand... well.. I demand changes but the supply has been a bit short lately...

Look, sluggy, I think it's great you can make money at 6k. And GOOD money. I can't! Does that mean I SHOULDN'T be able to sell spice anymore because the bazaar imposes some artifical 6k cap that I can't make a profit at? I'm not saying don't sell for that low. You go right ahead. We can all make money the way it is now. But if NO one buys at over 6k anymore because they have the bazaar prices for a point of comparison, and an easier way of buying they WON'T pay more. And that knocks me RIGHT OUT OF THE MARKET ENTIRELY. That's not cool. That's not fair. I don't WANT to make your profits. I don't WANT to be able to compete like you do. I KNOW you've earned whatever extra profit and competitive edge you have BECAUSE you put in the time and effort to mine your own resources. But that does NOT mean I shouldn't be able to sell on the market at ALL, that I should get pushed out COMPLETELY because I don't have the time, energy, money or inclination to get into that racket.
And whether or not you understand WHY people buy clamps, the point is, THEY DO. It's a market like any other. And once again, at 6k per crate it becomes a market I can no longer afford to trade in. That's not fair. I shouldn't be able to make the money people who mine their own resources make, granted, but I shouldn't be excluded from the market entirely, either. THAT'S ALL I'm saying. I'm not saying raise your prices, or lower them, or anything. I'm saying a 6k bazaar cap increase is going to impose a price cap, and while YOU may not be affected a LOT of US will. And that's not cool. That sucks.
You know what? It's really all boiling down to JTG here saying the same thing over and over again, and not listening to our counterpoints while we make counterpoints over and over again and not listen to his premise.
How about we just let this die and see what happens when the Bazaar cap increase goes through (since it appears people are overwhelmingly in favor of it)?
currently on kauri spices are already bottoming. im a full time pusher/fence i mine my own and sell full time pixie and moun.
there are about 4 major competitors i have to deal with, 2 with vendors and another street pusher like me.
the store vendors are both about 700m from coronet and sell for 4k to 4.25k and are always stocked.
they leave their toon afk shouting advertisements between the SP and bazaar.
the only way to compete with them is to go to dath ect ect.
but i dont sell in mass that way.
i now sell a full crate for about 5k a crate at SP for 5k and people are happy to pay the extra 1k, my cost is less than 400cr per crate so the profit margin is fine..
I see your point JTG, and yes, I think there should be a way for people to make themselves a small place by the market. But I think you're wrong on your analysis.
-I sell crates at 6K already. Yet people do still buy more expensive ones that are more conveniently placed to them. I think that you'll still be able to sell spices for more than 6K outside the dev cities. Of course, Coronet might be out, given the numbers of people that sell there.
Also, remember there's an item cap in the bazaar, that isn't very practical for mass sales. My vendors have dozens if not hundreds of crates on them. I can stock them, and then don't have anything to do for a week. If I have to go to Coronet every six hours to sell the crates at the same price I sell them already, two things could happen:
1) I burn out, get bored of the hassle and stop doing it.
2) I can't stock it fastly enough without depleting my shop. I don't want to make spice in 100% of my game time either. I'm a politician too and don't travel a lot these days.
Either way, the bazaar isn't as convenient to me as my personal vendor. People who have the ability to flood the market with crates at 6K credits don't even NEED the bazaar aniway. The people that didn't use the bazaar before and will do it now, aren't the big producers. So I bet you won't find spice crates so easily there. So you can still sell for more on a conveniently placed vendor.
That said, it's all extrapolation and guesswork, so if you can shoot my theory, do so. ![]()
