Hey, I already tried this with holocrons.

But nobody seemed interested in starting the '50K Holocron Movement' with me. It's not NEARLY as simple as you think.

Yeah but you didn't have access to the most pervasive and popular means of selling items, ie. the bazaar.

Slug,

Anyone can can sell their stuff cheaper. But why? People are clearly ready to spend at least 10K per crate of 25. Why not reap the extra profits instead of leaving money on the table.

that poll is crappy, i voted no but the reasoning it gives is for crap.

the option should be there that says:

  • No i don't want this because it undermines the merchant profession.

  • not: no i don't want his cause i am a greedy crafter.

Vendor/bazaar decidions affect merchants, not crafters.

it does nothing to my weaponsmithing skills, or my smuggler skills, it undermines my merchant skills.

I totally agree with you, the poll is insulting. Plus, i feel that the nature of this poll is inherently flawed. The only people who will vote against this change are the people who are going to be hurt. The business3 and merchants. All the other 30 professions in the game who will not be negatively effected will be either supportive or indifferent.

Well, all you guys just charge too little. I sell all my Muon on the bazaar and I sell fast at $1000cr per Muon... $3k for a crate of three. Yes, that's right, when you do the math that means $25k for a full case. I sell out and I sell out fast and I don't deal with anyone. If you don't like then don't buy mine...but people do.

Sounds like many of you just try too hard to manipulate the supply and demand side of things and just create more hassles for yourself. People use and buy the stuff all the time so if they need they will buy it regardless of the price. I have no problems selling at that price so why should I change...to sell more for less money and more time spent I think not.

Have fun running around alot more for a minimal increase in profit.

I would hope with the Imperial Crackdown that they would make spice and other contrabands illegal for the bazaar.

Now this would help all the undercuts on the servers. I do realize that some people will but I sell crates at 9k per crate, while my shop is new and not flooded with business I do think its a nice price.

Kenzo...but if the norm becomes 6k per CRATE because they can get it on the bazaar, and they KNOW they can get it on the bazaar, why would the EVER pay more than that? That's for a full crate, which was currently unavailable on the bazaar.

JTG is not being crazy here. lemme ask ya this.

Wadda ya pay for a crate of good powerups? 3k, bazaar limit.

they are harder to make than spice....less materials but a pain in the arse to get a good schematic made.

will we never sell spice for >6k after a change like this? no, it will still sell for good cash here and there. but the bazaar trade will be worse than it is now cash/spice ratio wise.

And what about clamps? If they follow suit you can't even make a profit unless you mine your own resources, which knocks a lot of us right out of the game, or we start mining because we can't afford not to anymore and stop buying resources, which the resource community is gonna LOVE.

Well, because not everybody will pay 10K for a crate of spice, to start with. I made the math, selling spices at 10K a crate had me selling three or four a day. That's 38K net profit approximately. Since I started selling at 6K, I sell roughly 20a day. That's a 90Kish profit.Guess what's better?

And yes, I know I could go set a shop near Theed/Coronet and sell triple that but I don't want to become a full time dope pusher either.

"And what about clamps?"

Why smugglers buy clamps is beyond me. If they're granted at slice IV and not before, it's for a good reason: that you don't lvl with them. If you're at slice IV, then you want to buy an item you can make, which I'd classify as "luxury expenses".

Also, remember that if prices for clamps go down, don't sell them, buy them and gain more money per slice. After all, 6K is two slices, three tops. That's 22 free clamps to make net profit with.

I pay mine more than that, but then they're good and the shop is next to my house.

" have been meaning to post this to the next pricing discussion. these days your lucky to find any materials on the bazaar as low as 3c/u. anyone that sells thier finished product near or even below that with the " i mine for 1c/u" argument is doing more work for less money.

And that's another HUGE problem I realized last night, Kav.

People DO sell crates of clamps right now for 6k a crate. And they make a profitt because they mine they're own materials. NOW, if I'm right, and 6k becomes the norm because no one can sell higher than that when they can get it easier and cheaper on the bazaar, the ONLY way you can make money selling clamps will BE by mining your own resources. Even at 3cpu you are taking a 30,000 credit loss per factory run of crates of clamps at 6k. And I'm clamps aren't the ONLY example of this.

Goodbye casual crafting.

Actually Kav it effects crafters too. Take clamps. They cost, at 3cpu, 270,000 credits for one factory run of 1000. If you sell them for 6k a crate (and you'll have to because who's gonna buy them from your shop for more money when they can walk down the street of cornet to the bazaar?) 40 crates only brings 240,000 credits. That's a loss of 30k per run. So the ONLY people who can sell clamps on the bazaar, and therefore, at ALL, are gonna be people who can mine their own resources. Good bye casual crafter.
