(customer) Hey, can you make me a Doctor's dress?

(me) sure thing.

(customer) I'll give you 2k

(Me) My price is 3500

(Customer) I know how much they are *smile*

(Me) I've never sold them for that amount. On my vendor is 3500, but I'll deal you for 3k even.

(Customer) But your husband sells them for 1500

(me) Oh? /tell husband (Customer) says you sell them for 1500...is that true?

(husband) /r I only sell them to (friend) for that much.

(me) Well, I have different expenses than my husband. Buy one from him.

Kudos to any tailors who are managing to incorporate the BE components....I've gotten some headaches. Thankfully a patient friend who spent the money and effort getting the required items was patient with me so I could learn the requirements as I experimented on his clothes. I garuntee any customers of mine leave me understanding a little more about the concept of crafting than me snapping my fingers. Too many people think I just enhance clothing, or that I make skill tapes, or that I do the BE.

(customer) How much for Bioenhanced clothing?

(me) Depends on what you want. Price of whatever clothing will hold an enhancement and you provide the bio components.

(customer) why should I have to provide the enhancements?

(me) If I have to buy the components I will charge you the cost of each component, plus additional for having to aquire from an outside source, plus additional for having to make special factory components specifically for your order.

(Customer) But you made them for (Friend)

(Me) He also paid for the components himself and provided them to me and traveled to my planet AND my shop. And waited patiently while I ran the factory. All following my disclaimer that I was not responsible for losing a component from a failed crafting. ((Customers also seem to think that masters don't have failures))

(Cusomer) You aren't on Naboo????

(Me) Just because you moved there from here, doesn't mean every crafter you knew moved with you.

I have my master tag on and get tells asking if I can make this...or can I make that.

Me-If it can be made by a tailor, then I can make it.

Customer-Oh, cool. Can you make (dropitemonly)?

Me-No.

Customer-But you just said you can make everything.

Customer- Can you make (noviceitem)?

Me-Hm...well...seeing as I am a MASTER, I would assume so...but....who can ever tell with the changes? It seems you are in luck. It will be x amount.

Customer-But (Novice tailor) sells it for 1/2 x amount.

Me-Then buy from him. I don'tneed the experience. He probably needs the money as much as theexperience.

Customer-But he can't do red. I wantit in red.

Me-Then you have to pay for the timeI've put intoearning that ability.

Slowboy: My friend buys guns all the time from a shop way cheaper then this sh%Th%le!

Me: I suggest you buy from the same person your friend does, and leave my store please.

Ok so he leaves and i shake my head and go back to restocking. Everything seems normal and fine. About an hour later i get a mass of emails, and then an incoming tell.

Slowboys tells/ Yur so lame. My buddy and i got better guns then you sell loser.

Me / im glad for you but i dont think i was priced to high.

Slowboy tells/ whatever dude i wont shop your crap store

I get these types all the time. I just brush it off as kids and don't worry much about it. What really made this person stand out though was the emails. After i finished restocking and he stoped sending me tells to whine and complain .... i checked my emails. I was expecting hate mail, what i got suprised and amazed me.

14 emails of Vendor Sales Complete. All 14 from my Mos Eisley store.

All 14 items sold had his nameas purchaser

Jhava,

LOL -- I'm pretty certain most of these folks have *no* idea that we get their names in the purchase e-mails.

Taking a well-deserved vacation from his successful Droid Engineering business, Master Rho can be found puttering around the galaxy.

I'm a DE and it's hard to price droids because some servers have higher prices, some have lower prices, and some people sell dirt cheap.

Two days ago I got a tell from someone who wanted a Power Droid.

I'llsell themfor 20K-25K because most architects around here charge 10K just for the Power Core Unit. But I usually don't have much of a demand for them.

I can't remember the exact conversation, but it went something like this.

Doofus: Hi, how much do you charge for Power Droids?

Me: Power Droids go for 25K. I think I have one on my vendor.

Doofus: I know, I just checked it.

Me: (??? surprised) OK, great!

Doofus: 25K is too high.

Me:(you must be a DE or something) That's the going rate for Power Droids, but sometimes I'll sell them for 20K.

Doofus: That's too high.

Me: (I know, I'm trying to rip you off) It is?

Doofus: I've seen people selling them for 5K.

Me: (bull, go suck a pickle) The Power Cores cost 10K, 5K if you get really lucky.

Doofus: You should sell them for 5K like every one else.

Me: (OK, sure, whatever you say, I'll let you run my business and then I can retire) It takesmore than 5000 resource just to build them - I'd be losing money.....

Doofus: You should sell them for 5K. I'd buy one.

Me: (for you? anything) Sorry, I can't do that.

Doofus: Why not?

Me: (because I don't like you) Because I'd be losing money.

The next day I get a tell again from the same guy.

Doofus: Hi, are you selling Power Droids for 5K?

Me: (yes, after talking to you I dropped all my prices) I'm sorry, I can't sell them that low.

Doofus: "So-and-so" is selling them for 5K on his vendor.

Me: (no sh*t? why are you talking to me?) He's losing money.

Doofus: I bought one.

Me: (woohoo! I'm so deleriously happy I think I just cr*pped myself, wait.....yeah that's cr*p, brb I have to go get a paper towel) Boy, you got a deal.

Me: (I'll buy them, mark them up 500% and be living on easy street) Have a waypoint to his vendor?

..........no reply

OK, bubye.

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, How can we do this and not make another EQ? We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen."

*sigh* These would be funnier if they weren't so true.

I just got my first piece of hate mail. Said:

Your weapons are too expensive and they're @#$%

(Actually, I'm sure the you're/your/they're/their/there was all wrong)

I don't both replying to these. But, the person did gain the honor of
being the first on my ignore list. I'm also adding them to the ban
list of my shops, as I travel to them. I wouldn't want him to have to
be offended by viewing my inventory any further

The worst though was the customer that wanted a custom krayt weapon, and
they would provide the tissue. Ok, no problem, give me the krayts, I'll
make the weapon. Great, meet me here. This is where things went wrong.
I normally take a day or two to make the weapons, he wanted it now!
I was too nice, I actually did it.

Me: I have to go to my shop to make it?
Customer: Ok. Where is your shop?
Me: On Talus, and 4km from the city.

* Customer takes shuttle, I just miss it *

Customer: where are you?
Me: Just missed the shuttle? Let me send you the WP to my store and you
can get on your way.
Customer: Hey, that's only 1km away, I thought you said it was 4km.
Me: It is, that is just on the way.
Customer: OK, burst run when you get here!

(Suddenly, evidently, burst run works through water and for 4km )
* ad nasuem *

So, he harasses me through the whole crafting process. What are you doing?
Why are we going to the factory? Why do you need a factory? Can you speed
the factory up? How did it go? What are the stats?

So, in the end, the weapon turns out great, and the deal goes. Here is the
best part. Because we're 4km from Town he wants me to kill him! Most
fun I had all night. On top of that, I got faction points out of the deal.

Oh, and his entry on my customer list now says something like: 2x cost

I've also had at least 3 customers say they can't find my vendor, it's not at
the waypoint. Of course, I have a standard email I just forward, so it's not
like I attached the wrong waypoint. Really, I'm considering making it so that
using waypoints is the minimum skill I require before you're allowed to be
one of my customers.

In reference to getting emails saying who bought what, I once sent a guy a tell thanking him for buying from my first store. He said, what? Where are you? I said, oh I'm at my home office, but watching you on the surveillance system. He thought that was the greatest thing ever, willfully ran around looking for the cameras and asked how much I wanted to sell the system for.

ok check this one out. I put up a small 10 credit Access Fee for my shop to gain some xps for new vendors..10 credits is not a big deal giving them 60 mins to do anything they want in my house. No one..and I mean NO ONE has ever compained about the small fee until this one guy.

here goes

Customer: Do you sell clothes?

Me: Yes how can I help you?

/brief pause/

Customer: Can you make me a ....... with a ..... in black?

Me: Hold on let me check (I pull out my crafting droid and check to see if i can make it).

/brief pause/

Me: Ok i can make it

Customer: kk how much?

Me: well it depends if you want protection mods on it and if it has sockets.

Customer: whats that do?

Me: (kindly explains Bio Engineering clothes to him)

Customer: How much for that?

Me: Well it will be the base price for the clothes + 1k times mod number total (So Bleed Protection +3 would be 3k) + 200c for sockets (if any)

Customer: Umm no i don't want that..just make me some clothes.

*sigh*-**edit** does he think i make? Pizza?

Me: ok come to my shop at (WP) and I will make it for ya.

Customer: kk

Me: (outside setting up a schematic for a +3 RFP and watching him come on radar)..Hi welcome to my shop

Customer: thx

I go inside and wait for him

nearly 1 minute later he comes in (slow guy)

Customer: (YELLING) HOW DARE YOU CHARGE ME 10 KREDITS TO BE INSIDE!!!!

at that point I just said outloud (not typing this) then why the F*@* did you pay it?

Me: Well in that case, BYE!

Customer: Bye you suk i will buy from somewhere else cheaper.

Me: Ok please leave since you are being rude.
he leaves, I put him on ban. Two hours later during a grind..guess who i get a /tell from?

Customer: Hi do you make clothes and cheap because one guy wants me to pay (the same total i gave him earlier) and he charge me 10 kredits to get in his house. he bad man..

Me: Sorry your cheapness and stupidity is no longer welcomed in my shop and you are being ban from all these tailor shops on the planet. (Pulling his leg)

Customer: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO PLEASE Don't do that...........i promise to be good. (exact quote)

Another thing that is annoying me lately is people being picky in my shop when my friends are waiting on me to finish and the customer takes too long then decides to LOG OUT at the center of my floor display without my permission..What do I do? Ban them from my shop.
And finally, whats with people thinking tailors can make armor? I have been getting a lot of /tells lately asking if i can make armor or armored clothes? I mean they found my name in the search under tailor..if they wanted armor, look under armorsmith and STOP ASKING IF I MAKE CLOTHES WHEN MY NAME SHOWS UP UNDER THE TAILOR CATAGORY!!!

Haha these are great.

I find it funny that people will ask me to make clothes (When i am playing my armorsmith with his title showing) guess people think tailors and armorsmith is one in the same....we just choose what title we want.

I also get very frustrated at the first question we get asked "Do you make armor?" Or "Can you make composite?" Even if I have my Master Armorsmith title up I will get this question. To save my sanity I always assume when they ask me this that they are actually asking if I have the resources to make the armor right then and there, so of course I usally say "No waiting on resources, but I have some armor on my Vendor" followed by a waypoint.

Yet this still often confuses them and they will continue to ask me for specific armor....
