People go to you because they know you always have a large stock, so they dont need to look elsewhere, and that is why you sell more than the smaller crafters, if you werent able to sell as many items at a time then shoppers would be forced to take their business elsewhere and the smaller crafters would sell more than they do now.
The devs dont want single crafters to monopolise the economy, they dont want 1 crafter able to supply the whole servers needs removing all competition....
Nancy - that's not a monopoly, that's a free market system.
I will guarantee every 'big' crafter started out as a small crafter somewhere along the line, we paid our dues - we provided service, we provided selection, we provided convience. The real merchant game is in player's skills and time. There has been nothing whatsoever keeping these 'small' merchants from doing the exact same thing all the bigger ones did - apparently they didn't want to.
If they haven't wanted to up till now, what makes anyone think they want to later? It's a LOT of WORK to keep a large shop well stocked and running, a ton of dabblers may have vendors, but they do NOT want to devote that much of their playing experience to crafting and stocking.
If you think for one second these people this is supposedly helping will sit for hours in their shops chained to their merchants, think again. They will burn out very quickly - if they stick around at all and then who is left?
Monopolies cannot exist in a free market system.
How can I have a stocked vendor with this? If I'm not on for one day I get sold out! I cant run a buisness at Master Merchant! If one guy comes buying all 15 fusions and I cant log on for a day i'm sold out. I cant build a reputation for being a merchant/ architect with a filled vendor with this new system!
Not to speak for armor smiths, but how can an AS merchant have a vendor stocked when each comp set is 7 parts and maybe want to stock ubese, mabari etc?
This is forcing all Elite artisans having master merchant as well (and still have a hard time) and not to have any weapon skills to speak of. People get tried of only crafting, dropping aritsan skills, prices increase and only power-gamer-mission-runners will be able to afford anything.

I'm already making plans in shutting down my shop, something I've worked to since I started playing.
I spent too much time to count making my shop look like a shop with properly stocked vendors, counters, clothing and shoe displays
Now it's all gone to shyte because of the limits.
I'm a Master Merchant and I've got a couple thousand items, everything I can make in a varaiety of colours, stocked in 4 vendors in my shop, and several hundred in 1 vendor I keep in an Emporium shopping complex.
660 items across 6 vendors for Master Merchant is BS and will drive my shop into the ground.
