Thread: My take on the upcoming Vendor and Merchant changes
Don't get me wrong, I don't agree with ppl utilizing vendors after dropping the skills either, just saying that if I had to choose between that, and empty legitimate vendors, I'd chose the full poached one. I am just really tired of going to the moon and back looking for certain things and 75% of the vendors on the map are empty.
btw, my third acct is master dancer/master musician and 3004 merchant, so my vendors are legit ![]()

There are tons of things some one can call an exploit if you put the right spin on it. I ama Master WS, former Master Merchant, who is now working his way up the Smuggling tree in order to be able to slice my own weapons for resell. Sony is intent on making us have to buy multiple characters, no other reason.
I already pay for an alternate char who is the hunter and gatherer because an elite crafter/Merchant cant also be an elitewarriror. Nevermind that I feel as though I have to Slice my own weapons to keep costs down for the consumers (not that most of you would know beacuse you would never need to buy an LLC or Flamethrowerfrom me because you dont have the skills to use it because you already have too many artisan skills) but the people who depend on me for their wares dont really care that I have to pay for harvesters, power, maintenance on factories, tents, and my shop, much less that I can save hundreds of thousands of credits by doing theslicing myself.
So, in order for me to get the skills I need, I may have to drop the few measly Merchant skills that I have. Should I have to suffer and not be able to sell items that I have worked so hard for just because I want to keep prices low?
Should we all have to suffer because one or two profsare jealous that they feel ripped off because I may make more creds than them?
The answer in my opinion is simple: Give your customers more of what they want and stop worrying about how you can nerf the competition. I cant count the number of times Ive seen Architect vendors and seen 200 potted plants and 200Heavy Harvesters and no furniture for my house. On my vendorsyou will always see at least 5 of every craftable weapon that there is. There is furniture I have seen in people homes thatI have never seen on a vendor anywhere. When was the last timeanyone saw a large bed on a vendor?
Give your customers a broad selection of multiple items, God Forbid you may actually have to craft things by hand and havemore than one color, and stay off the factory for a day to give people what they want.
In short, you whiners should be more worried about how you can help the player economy and less about how you can get your competition booted out. If their products were good to begin with they wouldnt need the devs to help them.
Just a rant
So the moral of your story is that its OK to have more skills alloted to you then skill points allow. Boy I wish I was all powerful like you and still be legit.
OH...
Wait...
Thats right!! It's your Fantasyland!! Those skills you decided to kype from the systemare making you more rich then you actually deserve to be. Its the same horse manure shoveled around by folks like you, with this whole sob story about how you can't sell your wares and be an uber cool PvPer. Guess what?!!! There are choices in this game that you must make in molding your character. We allcan't have our cake and eat it too.Stick with what's legal, and then when you talk about your sob story here, we might actually nod our head at you and pretentd to care about your pitiful existance.

The odds are that a legitamite vendor would be empty is so rare if laughable. That vendor owner put acutal skills into his merchant class, I would think he be a active guy indeed. As opposed to the fighter who grinded himself a vendor so that he could see just his 5 looted components.
I'd wager a month's salary the MAJORITY of empty vendor are from cancelled accounts - they never go away. Empty vendors have little or nothing to do with this issue.

I suspect that is the case too. Most people who are active at all put something up there. The empty vendors mostly I think fall into one of two categories. Cancelled Accounts and Extremely busy vendors that get emptied faster than the owner can stock them. Inbetween is the rest of the vendors that are stocked with various levels of items.
Currently it is possible to set up your merchant tent. Get your vendors, set your advertising. Dress the vendors and then surrender all merchant skills and business skills without any effect. You are then able to run your merchant enterprise without any merchant skills until you need to change some aspect of your shop. Many merchants feel this is unfair to them and allows people to use those skills for other crafting professions or combat professions which is against the spirit of the skill point system.
The reason they are wanting to do it is it will save on DB space no other reason... They don't care if it will cause a crash in the economy its all about the server.. Aka Force..

You can get that "ghost" fixed by a CSR.
