Thread: Another chunk of ugly was created in your backpack.

That's a great idea MilannaSati! ..... Let us post pics of the chunks of ugly we manage to create, that way people can see how horrible this problem really is!
lol! I was trying to make a nice looking Zabrak. All of them seemed to have red eyes, like they were possessed by demons. I wish I had taken some screenies. Is it just me, or did this get worse after p10? I don't remember having to delete so many before, although patch 10coincided with my gaining more merchant skills--maybe the more skills you have, the uglier your vendors get...

Being able to ID the vendors is something that is in the works from what I understand. Tehre are some complications in the implementation, but this was something that the ID community wanted, it's just getting the DEVs to find the time to do it.
Reference please? Last time I heard we got the standard Thunderheart answer when he doesn't know crap. Namely NO.

Right on, mate. The vendor grind is ridiculous. I remember thinking early days when I was learning up merchant that the + hiring bonuses would allow me to be more picky with my vendor hires but it just opened up even more races that would still be randomly picked.
The "Advanced" customisation that was toted as so fun for personalising our characters works against us here as we need to rely on 'good' random picks for body, chest, legs, hair, eyes, age, eyes, eyebrows, lips, nose ....
I toyed briefly with the idea of keeping an ancient crone obese human with a neon gren mohawk vendor, dressing her in a fleshwrap and making her ad bark "Has anyone seen (insert friend's name)? He said he loved me but when I woke in the morning he was gone!" but I decided against it in the end and continued the grind.
Definitely would think with maxed "hiring" we should have contorl over basic features of the vendor. I'm not sure I like the simulated 'hiring' process by "interviewing" (creating) hundreds of candidates until you find the right one. That's not exactly song and dance!
You can also be sure that I totally feel all of your pain, yesterday in setting up my Image Consulting headquarters (ID/Tailor) I had to create...ready for it...8 vendors. Eight acceptable by an OCD Master Image Designer/Master Tailor. 1 Male Wookiee, 1 Ithorian (please God let me be able to dress him after JTL, who knows what Ithorian vendors will turn into!) 1 Male Twi'lek and 5 Twi'lek females.
After hours of interviewing, are they all perfect specimens?...no. My wook is white and tan where I would have him a chocolate brown, but he has a beautiful face, which is more rare than a Jedi, doh I mean MID. /wink My male twi'lek is a bit stout, but he is a noble face and was the first one that wasn't pink with purple marking , purple with pink markings, or some other color with pink markings and also didn't just fall out of the ugly tree. My BE vendor may be a beautiful light green with light plum-colored markings, a lovely face, and a figure a tailor dreams of...but she also has not-so lovely cotton-candy pink eyebrows. Sure my female outfits vendor is a little thick-waisted, but hey, we have been there before. They are not perfect...but I think considering the random pool they were drawn from...they are pretty dern close.
Oh and wth is up with 99% of male wookiee vendors being PINK or PURPLE??
My recommendation (I might get burned at the stake for this one) is that if they aren't going to be able to have us image design or "character create" them, PLEASE go back to using the default character palette then. At least that would limit the range of hideousness available. No more cotton candy eyebrows, lime green lips, pink and purple wooks, etc, etc, etc.
