Thread: Merchant Issues Designer responses
store furniture ??? give me a store to put it in!
if you can implement a tent... im guessing you could modify a generic house layout to RESEMBLE a shop.
-a basement (stockroom)... 1 large open room (showroom)... 1 small room (with room for a bed and shisha)
-a basement, 1 large room, 1 small room, 1 outside area that actually function (like the naboo pois (like the med houses with fences)).
many many other possibilities, those are just two off the top of my head.

Allow a master merchant to drop one and only one NPC vendor in a city square marked for a limited number of NPC vendors. Each area could have 10 to 15 vendors and any given city could have 3 to 5 areas like that. The merchant would pay a high rent for slot the NPC vendor would drop into.
Fix the vendor list so any player on the list could stock that vendor and the Merchant could collect a fee per sale of the items.
Please fix Vendors unregistering themselves after server resets.
A vendor tent or 1 room building that only took up 1 slot would be really nice.
I find it funny that this thread is called "Designer Responses" when there are no "RESPSONSES." Just that one initial statement that says basically, yeah, bummer dude, we noticed that to, yah, but hey, maybe you'd like a tent to eat up your number of lots so that you can never have the ability to keep up with the other professions that can out produce you. However for now we'll just steal all your stuff so you can't make any money.
Maybe a few of the designers are closet communists who want to destroy the free market system they say they want in favor of some sort of eliteism. Becuase that's exactly what's happening right now by hurting the average merchants trying to start up.

I still get extremely annoyed at having to "resell" all my items weekly, not only does it suck to hafta spend over an hour to put 200+ items back on the vendor, it clutters up my email with that many emails as well. The vendors sales should NOT be 7 day auctions like the bazaar, they should be permanent until sold or taken off the vendor. It could be possible that merchant vendors are causing lag at times by filling up the email system with thousands of sends per day. please change this.
169 items so far this weekend. That doesn't count ones during the week. Nor does it count anything that times out on Sunday.
At the moment, I have 341 items on my vendors. If that sounds like a lot, let me point out that it's an average of 3 of each clothing item I can craft - hardly a huge selection, considering I have the only tailoring shop on Rori/Kettemoor.
And of course, it's made worse by the fact that unlike the bazaar, selling (or restocking) an item to a vendor doesn't tab automatically up to the price field, so every single one of those 169 items in the last 36 hours took several mouse clicks at opposite ends of the screen. Not to mention a price lookup on most of them. This is starting to suck up so much of my game time that it's interfering with my ability to get anything else done. I can't even leave the Restuss area for more than a few minutes, it seems, without 10% of my stock disappearing from the sight of potential customers. I know I'm losing sales (and therefore XP) to this, too.
For the love of God and all that's holy, please change this!
Ditto! But fix al the inventory bugs first PLEASE!!!
Oh, and dont' think that we're going to forget about the "tax on inventory" that are scaled maintenance fees. OR the issues about private vendor options for PA Halls. ![]()
Venar - great post!
I woleheardly agree with every point. So I guess this is my first bump?

Ad barking STILL doesn't work and we STILL have to re-register for planetary advertsing each morning. Having vendors on multiple planets makes this a complete pain. There has to be some way to fix it.

It would be nice though unrealistic for stockrooms to be galaxy wide and that we could draw from it anywhere. So We could set up a Tent on Lok and sell stuff at it for a period of time and it collaspes after a period of time (more likely) or after the items are sold (less likely).
I've noticed that sometimes if I place a vendor and delete it (because the vendor doesn't look like i'd hoped). My inv sometimes reads as full, even if I have say 15 items.
I'd still like to see bodyguards under Merchant tiers.
I think I'm done with SWG.
I was enjoying the merchant class until the bugs became worse than gamebreaking, they started to make me look like a cheat and were emberassing. Just today:
I have 4 of my harvesters that I cannot destroy sitting outside my house. They've been degrading there for 3 days now. I cannot put down any harvesters without fear that I won't be able to destroy/redeed them later either.
I have had to remove all items from my resource vendor so that people won't be tempted to buy from it, since everytime they do, they get ripped off and the resources are not retrievable.
The clothing that I had purchased from another tailor and then put up for sale has gone missing from my vendor, as though it never existed.
My vendors had to have all their barking and global advertising reset again..and again..and again. Everytime the servers are started up.
I was able to advance another tier in Merchant and couldn't find a single thing in any of the lines that was worth spending 7000crs on just to get more bugged mechanics. Even though it takes less than an hour to make 7000cr on survey missions, it still isn't worth an hour of my time to buy a skill.
What word do I have to go on that changes are coming? The report says 'hrm..we'll look into that' and nothing changes.
Name of shop, Waypoint, Sales Type(s) (like Seller's description text box), name of Merchant/Crafter, City, Planet.
How did shop furniture get on the list, but not the bug making items disappear from people's inventories after purchase?

This may not be the best forum to suggest this, but I would also like to see special "crafter" houses. This would basically be a meidum house, but with slightly less floor space then a normal medium house. This house would actuallyhave a factory builtinto it. You would have to have master artisan in order to own one of these houses. There would be a differant style house for each planet (naboo, tatooine and corellia) and a differant house based on each differant type of factory. Perhapsa factory deed would be used in the scematic for these houses.
This started off as a good idea, until you said Master Artisan.... I have 2 factories running 24/7 as a doctor and I'm going nowhere near master artisan skill... as it is master doctor master merchant I barely have enough skill points left over for surveying IV
