Thread: Keep merchant as a profession, but not required to have vendors.

And the point of every elite crafters argumentis that we have a limited right to some sort of realistic way to sell our goods.
You do. It should cost you something to do it. Whether its time, money and/or skill points.
I love how the 5 people who give a damn about merchant point to the bazaar like the holy grail for thier argumant.
Its not the "holy grail". Its a tool that you choose not to use because its your opinion that it has little value. I'm a master chef that uses it to sell my brandy in singles out of the crate; same quality thats on my vendor. I average 150k per day off the bazaar alone. Your just dismissing the bazaar as completely useless and thats just not true.
A bazaar terminal "vendor"is a vending machine not an employee.
A vending machine that ANYONE can use to sell their goods.
You don't even have to be logged in to gain the xp to master merchant yet you ask forprotection like it was so hard to do.
Protection of the ability to operate vendors as a profession based skill. XP is nonconsequential.
Merchant is the apitomy of AFK professions as the only time you have to actualy put any effort in to it to master is when you have to hunt down a trainer.
Arguementative. I say your mastery of TKA is patheticly mindless because it only involves killing 1,228,994,593,576,304 chubbas.
Yet you complain that people are "stealing" your skills.what arewe stealing, something you didn't even have to work for in the first place?
Not stealing. Mooching.
And before you start on how it takes effort to master merchant, I was a master merchant, it take ZERO effort.
And you gave it up. So you should have to cough up the skills.
Untill SOE puts a system in place to make merchants work for thier profession, it's nothing more than a joke on crafters. A good start would be only gaining xp from sales and eliminating entrance fees.
Sure. They should also start making TKAs do meditation quests too.
Ridiculous arguement.

I had to be logged in to kill my "chubbas" meaning I actualy had to play the game.
I sense that some one here couldn't hack it in combat.
And I also sense Lawyer (AKA "argumentative"), no sensedebating with one of those scum bags as they will always come with some ignorant argument that they think is pure genious.
Yes.

Anyone can master ANY elite combat profession in less than 24 hours. It takes an average of at least 2 weeks even if you stay online 24/7 to master merchant.
I sense that some one here couldn't hack it in combat.
If you had paid attention you would have noticed that I said I used to be a master rifleman. I dropped TKMs like chubas. Got pretty boring.

I sense a defeated overgrown child that thinks he's entitled to what everyone else has and doesn't believe he has to work for it. Now he's crying because SOE isproposing to take the lolipop thats in his mouth away because it doesn't belonged to him anymore because he surrendered the right to have it.
You will always receive "arguements" from "scum bags" that think they are pure genius (thats the correct spelling by the way little boy) when YOU present arguements that include name-calling and reasons why you shouldreceive and keep something that doesn't rightfully belong to you. So prepare to defend yourself with something that slightly resembles "pure genius" if you want to stay up to speed. At least spell genius right.

That's all fine and dandy, but it is Merchant skill that gives you the ability to "manage" those vendors. You have to be able to do payroll, schedule vacations, resolve disputes, and even reprogram the terminals.
I read the manual where it said that is what merchants do. Create and place. Nothing about own and operate
If you don't have those skills, your terminals will cease to function and your employees will quit.

WrongI have merchant skills. I have the right to sell my crafted weapons for my self, and not have to deal with the "Fat Gas Station Attendant" Profession.
Well then bully for you! As long as you keep those skills I see why you shouldn't be allowed to. Thats all in a matter of how much of a limit will be imposed on the vendors. My hope is that it would be large enough for independent crafters who retain the necessary skills to keep their own shops.
Unlike you I spent alot of time, money, and skill to master Weapon Smith, I didn't sit on my ass some where waiting for some one to click on my vendor.
Actually you haven't the slightest clue what I did to master WS. I spent just as much time as you did and spent NO money (other than harvester maintenance) to master because I got off "my ass" and harvested my own resources; which judging by from your statement, must mean you purchased your grinding resources instead of "getting off YOUR ass" to go harvest it yourself. You see assumptions can be a 2-way street.
The fact that I spend the extra points to make multiple vendors only says that I am willing to give my customers more of a choice for there purchases. The fact that you would imply that you didn't would mean that you spam; which can be argued as a pretty tasteless practice. Once again, 2-way street.

Yea you're right. I have no idea how anyone can be a "hard core" merchant as it realy requires nothing to master it, but to each thir own I guess.
Yeah you;re right I have no idea why anyone would want to become a TKM because all it really requiresto masteris mindless punching one toad after another.
Yes, it really is each to their own. No guessing about it.

Any one with a business will tell you the very act of manufacturing aproduct is, in of it self, a business. there for a crafter **is** a business man (or woman
I have 3 businesses. I don't do any business until my product sells. If you are making goods without any sales then you are simply stocking.

Actualy I was comparing WS to merchant, I thought that was very clear.

If make something you, more than likely, paid some one to make it, there for you did "business" with your employee.

What is your current template maduece?
I am a master artisan, master weaponsmith, master chef, merchant 3/4/0/4.
This has changed little since I started playing over a year ago. The only exception with this is master chef; which I dropped master rifleman for almost 9 months ago.
