Thread: Vanishing Vendors or Vendor Items
Vendor mall location: 3150, 2750 east of Keren, Naboo (Corbantis)
We have multiple vendors in our mall, none with the same name. All of the merchants in our mall are reporting missing items, some numbering in the hundreds of product.
One of our merchants logged out with 600 items on the vendor, and logged in today with 20 sales messages and only 350 items on the vendor.
I have a female wookie vendor named "sv Wookie Wear" in my shop west of kor vella. The shop is as close to kor vella as possible, on the east side of the river that runs north south there. The vendor is named different from my other vendors (which seem to be fine thank god).
My wookie vendor is used to sell wookie wear (obviously
) and for the past week I havn't been getting any sales from it, which I assumed was just a fluctuation, I didn't worry about it because I KNEW without a shadow of a doubt that it was well stocked with multiple color schemes for each and every wookiee article of clothing.
Today I got paranoid by all the dissapearing items stories I've been hearing and checked it. Not a single article of clothing on it, nary a one. Freaking registered on the map for a week now with nothing on it, plssing off I don't know how many customers who walked all that way for an empty vendor.
And to top it off since I got paranoid and started keeping track of money on hand and money coming in from sales just this evening I sold 85k worth of BE clothing, normal clothing, and chitin armor. And not a single credit from this evenings 85k worth of sales has hit my bank or inventory cash. fcuking joke.
Problem #1 Items that are not sold, or are withdrawn, require 2 or more vendors to retrieve. The list of items always disapears after retrieving one, until I switch to another vendor and retrieve from the "all" tab in the stockroom. To retrieve multiple items, you have to play a game of musical chairs, retrieving one item per vendor(or two if you time it right and are quick enough, before the list goes away from the current vendor).
Problem #2 Entire vendors have disapeared, only to come back 30 or more minutes later. They seem to still count as one of the placed vendors, and when the come back, they have all the stuff I placed on them.
Problem #3 Items in my shop have done the same thing as my listed #2
Problem #4 Entire interriors(vendors and all) are slow to load. Most often take at least 15 seconds and sometimes take a minute or more.
Problem #5 Missing vendors and items have been a problem since day one, and are still not fixed. To a merchant, that would be like if a combat professions gun would disapear, not load, or not function at all. People have been beyond reasonable and patient for these fixes. I find it pathetically incompetent that even these primary game functions(MMORPG persistance) are still a problem this far into release.
Please list the server type (NPC, Droid, Terminal) and the server and planet your vendor was on as well as a waypoint for the general location the vendor was located:

1. Do you have multiple Vendors with the same name?
Every vendor is prefixed with the same name, but the last portion of it is unique.. ie, Gun-Warehouse Firearms, Gun-Warehouse Melee. Previously, they where more unique, but the same problem still existed.
2. Is your vendor to your knowledge on a server boundry.
No
3. Is your vendor in a player city?
No
4. Does your vendor or items return with a server reset?
They return to the stock room when I switch vendors. Basically, if I want to retrieve 5 items, I have to go to 2 or more vendors and flip back and forth, retrieving one item per vendor. If I had only one vendor, I would guess I would not be able to get everything back.
Any other information you have about this issue including the first date that it happened.
Started to occur when I transferred the structure, with the vendors still in it, to a friend to save some lots. I have since transferred it back, and have also gone as far as redeeding entire house and deleting all my vendors. Problem is still here.
Good info and good initiative doc, good idea even. Nice that we can try and track down bugs in the game and all, but can we get a hint if this is on the devs radar or what? I mean, are we wasting our typing?
Gamebreaking bugs would warrant some type of input from the devs one would think. All I see is player's trying to do the job for them.
How about merchant xp? A peep maybe? A whisper from the devs?
I've seen and been the victim of major profession bugs before, but to have a combined effect that literally halts the profession in it's tracks and have no idea if it's even being looked at is pretty ridiculous.
But hey, at least the devs are making sure people know where the **edit**ing vehicles are on test center. Too bad there won't be any merchants left to sell them when they hit live.

Detailed Description:
All totalled, I lost over 4 million credits worth of rare merchandise. I have opened a ticket and I am hoping (praying?) the CSR team can help. Almost all of these items were put up for sale on either 11/21 or 11/22. So they should have 23 days or so. They are not in my stock room. I have no emails indicating they sold. Also, my house is full -- I noticed some other person's house was also full.
Complete Speculation:
I am thinking there may be a bug that expired them after 7 days, even though it's supposed to have been 30? I don't know. I'm grasping at straws and speculating wildly.
To answer the questions --
1. Do you have multiple Vendors with the same name?
No.
2. Is your vendor to your knowledge on a server boundry. (This is tricky because the only way I know to tell is if you have someone run around that area with a pet they will usually stop following you when you hit the boundry) If someone has a better way to test this let us know.

Yes they are aware of this problem and the xp problem. I don't have any information for you on their progress but as soon as I am able I will post anything I have about it.
The best thing we can do right now is to continue to give them the data we collect and hope that it will speed up the process of them tracking down the bug and eliminating it.
I have mega vendor problems at the moment. I have two characters, Reeza, who is the merchant, and Cinderr who is the medic who makesmeds. It started Saturday, which happened to be exactly 14 days after I recreated new vendors and relisted all my merchandize (which is 2 days after the patch that gave us 30 day vendor limits.) I was also dropping some merchant skills on Saturday(I was master merchant, and began to explore other areas.)
I run a Medical Shop, with 4 vendors, approximately 500 items. I do not have a detailed list of what I lost, but I do know this: One of my characters made spice.. I wanted to drop the skill, and I ran a TON of it before i dropped it. Its been on my vendors, and I just re-listed it when I re-created my vendors. Now its completelygone, no receipts, nonothing. I lost it all, there was about 95 crates left. I am sure I have lost other things, but I do not know what. The spice I am sure about tho. It was a mixture of muon gold, yarrock, grey gabaki. mostly muon tho. I knew I had relisted all my other merchandize after that, and I knew I had to get it off the vendor before it poofed as well.
Also on Saturday began my difficulties of seeing stuff on my vendors. Other people could see the items, but I could not.Couldn'tcancel sale, couldn't retrieve them, couldn'tview the list. The only thing I COULD do was buy things that other people had left on my merchants.
I left my vendors go over the weekend, hoping that server reboot would fix things. This morning I checked my vendors, and I could see my inventory! (all except for the spice that is). At noon today, I raced home from work, was gonna remove everything from my vendors and make new ones a-g-a-i-n.. but I when i logged in, I couldn't see the inventory again! I logged in my other character, Cinderr, and had her buy all my merchandize in order to get it off the vendors and I put it in storage. Then I had to return to work. I thought perhaps I had dropped a skill that I needed to make that particular vendor work. So I planned tofinishing dropping whateverskills I was going to, then I was going to create NEW vendors. They should work if the vendors were created with the skills I settled on, right?
After work tonite, I looked at my skills, decided what skills I wanted to finish dropping, and settled on 3 0 0 2 merchant. I then created new vendors and tried to relist my inventory. I put two items on the vendor and checked the for sale tab, and again, I can't see the items. I had my friend check, he CAN see them. So I don't know what's hosed, but something is. I logged out and came here to look for more answers.

Yes. When I tried to re-create my vendors, I tried making the standard vendor terminal. It let me create it just fine, i dropped it, initialized it, then when I went to use it, it told me that the vendor wasn't initialized. But it was, I had just done it. I repeated the process by making a new standard terminal and the same thing happened. So I decided I better stick with the NPC Vendors.

Here's some more info for you..(sorry I am really upset over this,, and can't even bring my self to play with things how they are so might as well spend time here in the forums)..
1. Since the patch, my vendors will not appear if i log out in the guild hall. When I log in, everything in the GH is gone.. I have to step out side for a few minutes, then re-enter the GH, then the vendors and rest of the decorations will appear and functionally normally.
2. Items somehow randomly get moved around the GH by themselves. One day when I logged in, the big piano thingy that musicians use (and we keep in the guild hall for the occasion) was flung up against the vendor, totally hiding the vendor. No idea how it got moved. We have a rather small guild (like 8 ppl), and one of them very well could have moved it, but I really doubt it.

#2 explained: Store #1(check sig) is on a server boundry. I have noticed several pets, including my own will stop when going by the store. Also since this last patch I can no longer call pets or droids in the room where the vendors are, but I can call them in every other room(Large Tat house) including the hallway when you first walk in. Don't know if this info is usefull but here it is.
#3 explained: Store #2 is in a player city right next to City Hall.
Now this is what has happened. After the last patch I made up some Metal Staffs in one of my factories. I made 25 total and put 13 on one vendor and 12 on the other. I've only sold 3 so I know I should have plenty between both vendors to last a while. Today I'm asked where they were, I kindly said there should be plenty on both vendors. My customer checked both locations and there was none. So I checked myself to find the samething. I didn't get any emails saying the sale ended(items were posted on vendors on patch day). I also noticed that all of my VK's were gone also(posted on patch day also). I suspect I'm missing several other items, but have no real way of telling what they are.
I also lost a High Powered Vibro Motor when I was retrieving it from the stockroom. No my inventory was not full and I was only retrieving one at a time.
A lil bit more info, Store #2 is a Med Tat house. Store #1 is on one friends account(his slots) and store #2 is on another friends account. Not sure if that info helps but there it is.
Basically it seems like its only related to vendors and not so much where they are located but when items were placed, seeing how this happened with both of my vendors that are in reletively in different circumstances. Oh and both vendors are NPC vendors, Store #1 Twilek femal, Store #2 Wookie male.
There are other NPC vendors at both stores owned by other crafters. I'll be asking them to check their vendors also to see if they have had similar problems. ![]()
