Thread: POLL: How many items do you CURRENTLY have on your vendors?

Hi,
My name is Lupaerian and I'm a vendor addict.
I'd say I currently have 300 items for sale on 2 vendors and 700-900 items stored on 1 vendor.
I'm master artisan, weaponsmith and armorsmith, with the rest in merchant. I've kept mynumber of items for salelow on purpose while trying to figure out what sells, gathering resources, making schematics, obtaining skill tapes etc. Once I really get going with both regular goods and sliced goods, I can imagine I'll hit something in the range of 900 items (suits of armor in backpacks counted as 1 item) at the very least on 4 vendors. 2 vendors for armor (sliced and unsliced) and 2 vendors for weapons (again sliced and unsliced).
If the current limits on TC make it to live, I'll have to drop the sliced goods vendors completely in favor of having 2 vendorsfor armor and 2 vendors for weapons. I'm guessing that 400 items for sale would be enough at the current pace (I restock about every other day), but with the prospect of several mass producing crafters retiring because of these limits making it impossible for them, I can imagine my sales would go -up-, thus being a benefit to me in terms of -selling- stuff. Unfortunately, this would also mean that I would be more or less -forced- to restocking my vendors -every- day. I can't just put up a little extra and go on vacation to visit my family like I've done in the past. While it's nice to have some extra credits for yet another Endor painting or AV21, I don't want crafting to feel like a full time job. The only way I can think off to counter that, would be to increase my prices so that the stuff on my vendors won't sell as quickly. This will unfortunately hurt the combat classes who depend on these products in order to make a living and it'll make it very hard for newbies to get started without help from friends/PAs.
As for the stuff on my storage vendor, I'd have to put down 8 factories in order to get rid of the storage vendor altogether, thereby cluttering the landscape even more than it already is. I've already been forced to setting up an alternate account for my PvE combat character who uses his lots to hold my factories and warehouese. Due to vendor bugs, I do -not- store my more precious resources on a storage vendor. These are stored in 2 medium Naboo houses and that's barely enough at the moment.
Because I have 2 accounts, I would be able to survive in terms of storageif I can no longer use a vendor for storage. I would however, no longer be able to harvest resources myself. The cost of buying resouces in such a scenario will be passed on to the buyer. I would also be able to survive with just 4 vendors at a grand total of 400 items (I'm not master merchant and thus I fall short of the 110 items per vendor that masters get). The will however be no further room for expansion unless I turn my combat character into a merchant and I will be forced to spend an hour or two -every- day restocking and making things because I won't have the storage capacity needed to build up a decent size stock that will last for a while.
Double the limits and I would probably be fine with a little bit of planning. Triple the limits and I would be happy since they wouldn't really affect me much on a daily basis and there would be enough room for a little expansion.

Weapons vendor: 150-180
Powerups vendor: 200-250
Loot vendor: 120-150
Storage vendor: 150-160
(I don't use this vendor for lack of storage space, I use it primarily to sort my resources so Ican find what I need quickly in a reasonable amount of time)

I have 6 vendors with a total of about 1000 items. All are at the same location. I have 6 vendors to make it easier for my customers to browse by category: Deeds, Furniture, Lighting, etc.

I have 6 vendors
Full suits of armor: Usually around 80 items
Individual Pieces of Armor: Usually around 200-300...this one will have to go.
Powerups etc: 200-300 items. Includes repair tools and the like. This will have to go or I will have to put powerups in backpacks in sets of 5 crates or something
2 vendors: essentially empty
1 vendor for buying things: presently holding like 8 items.
I think I could cope with the change with the present limits set by the devs. I am assuming that packs count as one item.
Powerups would need to spread to two vendors from one. So would individual pieces. But it still works. That still eaves me with one vendor. And so what if I concentrate on just helmets, chests, and leggings as individual pieces? No harm done there.
I like and support the notion of requiring merchant skills to continue stocking vendors if you are over the max number of vendors allowed by your present skill set.
I like the idea of reducing the amount of items allowed on vendors below an unlimited number.
I think the limits could be made easier to live with if masters of crafting professions have their crafted goods in professions they have mastered cost only 1/2 an item. This helps prevent use as storage and ensures that the item is something you made and would like to sell.
It would also be great to limit the total price on anything in a backpack so that vendors will be used as storage at the seller's own risk and also to allow buyers to look inside all backpacks on vendors. For instance, you can't put anything in a pack up for over 3M. So...if I can look in it an see all those beautiful stacks of resources...well...I don't think you are going ti put it up on your vendor for someone to go purchase. Now are you?
The devs are finally getting some good ideas with elimination of recursive macros (read: elimination of afk spammers at starports who aren't using forbidden 3d party programs), removing lots used by deleted characters and cancelled accounts, and further reducing the incentive to use vendors as storage. Kudos!
