Thread: Vendors and /Transferstructure (Bug!)

I'm just curious as to what kind of exploit could possibly be stopped by making this change.

Vendor permissions don't change based on structure ownership and you don't even need to be an admin once you've initially placed the vendor.

I wonder if maybe it's a 'temporary' moratorium in order to prevent mass vendor deletions when they purge inactive characters for the first time.

Either way, it's EXTREMELY inconvenient and needs to be put back to the way it was.

update on my situation posted above.. Our guildmate had to pay for an extra month on his subscription because we couldn't get all the vendors out of a building due to timing and vacations and things. now, turns out, the one vendor left, belongs to a player who had to take a month off because he didn't have the money to pay this month. So now we have the potential of having someone have to pay 2 extra months on his subscription, that he doesn't have time to play, in the meantime all these people who want to sell items in the shop can't, because we have absolutely no idea if/when this will be fixed so we have to keep all the vendors out.

Hope this gets fixed soon. Loaned out my coronet shop to a friend to level merchant before the publish and I still can't have it transferred back to me unless all the vendors are gone. This means that me and my business partner would have to stop production and either wait for the vendors to sell everything or try to find a place to store all the stuff (not likely since we're already strapped for space without unlimited storage vendors) before we can get the house back. Meanwhile, the person who I let borrow the house has quit playing the game and his account is only temporarily being held open by another friend. I just want to get my house safely back on my own lots so I don't have to always worry about random things that might happen. This needs to be fixed right away.

Unrelated question, but sort of related...

If you have a vendor in the shop, I thought you had 'admin' on the building automatically. Has this changed? Am I incorrect, or is it just a bug with Cantinas having vendors.

Thank you

You don't have admin rights automatically. You have to be granted admin rights to put the vendor down initially but after that the admin right can be revoked.

I agree completely. We've waited long enough for a fix or at least some type of an answer. Even the CSR's don't know what's going on... but then again.. when do they ever.

Stop worrying about Jedi fixes and fix the economy of this game! If we start losing vendors as a result of not being able /transferstructure, there are going to be some very upset merchants and the result will be a damaged in game economy!

I already gave you the official dev response: Bug.

The timeline for a fix hasn't been communicated to me and I've asked a couple of times. But honestly guys you can't be blind to what the focus of the entire organization is right now..there is a major release happening in 2 weeks. The ability to get answers and changes right now is very limited.

Doc,

I know you told us it was a bug, and I appreciate all the hard work you've done in order to seek answers for us. I think you're one heck of a forum leader.. I know I myself would never have the patience.

We areSTILL hearing from CSR's that this is "operating the way it was intended"and it'sgrating on my nerves and the nerves of many others. This is a big issue for many players and concerns a core part of SWG.

I fully understand that JTL will be released in the next couple of weeks, but I also see that there have been numerous hotfixes to the ground game since this bug was found and it still has not been addressed. I keep hoping to see it in every hotfix released, butthey continueto be focused on Jedi fixes.

I'm really starting to agree with many people who have stated that SOE should have addressed the ground game issues before even thinking about releasing the expansion pack.

I think we all would agree that you're doing a great job Doc. And we appreciate you keeping us up to date with the latest information from the Devs.

We're just (nearly all existing profession communities) getting tired of hearing that in-game issues are being put on the backburner too often.

But since you bring it up... has SOE actually confirmed or denied the 10/27 JTL release date that was posted on www.starwars.com the other day?

I haven't asked but I don't see any indication that it isn't accurate. In fact if they've posted it on starwars.com you can bet its pretty close to being unmovable

This won't surprise you...CSR's have been known to be wrong, from time to time. I asked Tiggs directly about this issue and she said it was a bug. I asked her if I could tell you that and she said yes. That is as definitive as it gets around here. It is possible she was mistaken, its more likely that CS is mistaken. I'll push for a clarification to the CS position.

Does anyone have a ticket number or a CS Name (and quote) that said it was working as intended?

Sorry as there is no way to record them, I usually do not screenshot CSR responses that achieve nothing.
