As many of your have encountered already currently if you try to transfer a structure with a vendor inside it you get an error telling you to remove the vendor before you transfer the structure. While I don't have any details or timeframes I wanted to let you know that Tiggs has confirmed that his is not intended and will be resolved. We don't know when yet but hang on and I'll let you know as soon as I have any information about when this bug will be fixed.

Can we get a 'best guess' on the timing? Like one month, six months, a year?

Please tell me that this is going to be fixed soon. Our mayor has decided to leave the game and he owns almost all of the 20 tents we have. I can't even imagine how much of a pain this will be to try to resolve. I've tried submitting a ticket but they said the couldn't help and I've sent tiggs a pm but no response although maybe she will respond soon (holds breath).

PLEASE FIX THIS..... SOON...

I'm glad to see this so promptly posted. I was dreading that it was new "functionality" and not a mistake.

one of my guild's doctors is leaving and of course he holds the town med center which of course has vendors in it.

sooner this is fixed the sooner we all benefit.

Man I just do not get these people. They want a player run economy but they keep breaking the damn tools to do it and are not coming back with ANY feedback on the subject.

Beyond that, they have apparently gated the damned FS crafting quests so only 45 people per server every 16 weeks can do the phase 2 quests. I was helping people do a lot of things this week so thought I would do the quest this weekend. Yet again SCREWED for helping other in the game. Half of the people on the list have not even done one thing on the quest. They're just holding the spots and others are stuck.

This is a perfect example of how communication is still not working. While Doc is going to the devs, they still have no answer or have told Doc the answer but won't let him share it. Looks like we still have a long way to go on communication.

If you want a good channel of communication between the community and the developers, and the correspondents are supposed to be the conduit for that channel, then information has GOT to flow both ways, and right now, it's not.

Holocron wrote:

That's correct. I'd add that when it does, we're taken to task (in rather rude terms) for how bad our answers appear to you. It is going to take a while for us to ramp up on this. Our first try was, well, not great. But there's every reason to expect that it will get better--we're not abandoning the correspondent program, we're trying to improve it. So all I can ask is that you be patient while we sort through our cluelessness on this front. This is the first time that we have ever run a correspondent program, and we underestimated the amount of effort it would take.

Seems like things have not changed much since June of 03.

I think it actually has improved over the past year or so but this isn't the best time to measure it. There are a number of things going on behind the scenes that are making communication scarce I'm sure if you think for a few minutes you can guess what a couple of them are.

I haven't been given any information about Merchant that I haven't been able to share with you. Right now there just aren't many answers coming out.

Yeah... Unfortunately, there are always things going on. I doubt that anyone is sitting around waiting for stuff to do. However, you have to manage not only adding new content, but also fixing new bugs introduced.....especially ones that impact players this way.

Thanks Doc for keeping on top of this...please stay with them on this till it is resolved. I still /bug this once in a while and get varied responses from CSRs, but you are the only one really empowered to make a difference.

I remind them from time to time, but its not that they don't know. They know about these issues because I've mentioned them more than once. Its a matter of resources to assign to fix them. That is the bottleneck and it usually is

Don't let the negative AFKophobes get you down. Play the game however you want.

Is the beta testing almost over for this game?

I just had this experience with 3 different CSRs:

First ticket on /transfers with vendors inside:

I had a small house, wanted to /transfers the lots to my alt to open up space for a PA hall. the house had 23 vendors inside.
I explained thoroughly my problem, including what and why I was wanting to /transfers to someone else to hold the lots, but stupidly, typed the words "Guild Hall" in my ticket (saying i needed the free lots for a guild hall) and the response i got back was something to this tune:

Hello Rakeris, this is CSR-IdidntReadYourTicket.

I'm sorry you're having a problem with your guild hall, please add a comment to this ticket with the name and location of the structure and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.

/growl...

Ticket number 2:

"I just sent in a ticket about this and got a response from CSR-Ididn'tReadYourTicket about guildhalls. My ticket had nothing to do with guild halls. Please read this and do not send me a form letter back about guild halls."

/copy and paste original ticket
response coming:

Hello Rakeris this is CSR-NotMuchMoreHelpful.

I'm sorry that you had an issue with CSR-Ididn'tReadYourTicket.
your issue concerning transferring structures is being inviestigated by the development team at this time, and will be adressed soon. in the mean time please keep the structure in the original owner's name, or move all of the vendors out of the structure and into a new one.

Also, I'm sorry you're having a problem with your guild hall, please add a comment to this ticket with the name and location of the structure and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.

/urge to kill.... rising....

Ticket Number 3:

Ok, lets try again, third time's the charm right?
"I have a house with 23 vendors in it and i need the lots freed up. I'm trying to transfer it to my alt but i'm getting the error that there are vendors in the house and to please remove them before transferring. Is this a bug or a new "feature" of the new publish?"

Response:

Hello, this is CSR-FinallyAnAnswer.

I'm sorry you're having an issue with your vendors, but due to the previously large amount of exploits associated with multiple vendors, the ability to transfer one's house to another player while vendors are inside has been permanently removed. This is a new feature of the merchant system.

I suggest either keeping the structure in the original owner's name, or placing a new structure in which to house your vendors.

Please delete this ticket after viewing.

Bla bla bla, CSR-FinallyAnAnswer.

This doesn't sound like they think it's a Bug, does it?
I moved my shop and all the vendors inside... which has been hard on sales at the beginning (expected).
Now i'm having another problem with all the vendors inside disappearing for hours at a time. /cheer for SOE!!!
