Thread: Beware Possible Vendor Griefing.

Did anyone check out my signature???? It kinda hints at the fact I have merchant skills and a vendor of my own. Heck type in the waypoint on your server and then imagine how rich the people are that own a PA hall in that area.

Sure I said its in SOEs power and best interest to give me my item back if they tracked it down so easy. If they are spending the time they might as well spend the extra ten seconds returning the item instead of wasting the time explaining why they wont return it.I also said that the only thing that matters is that they fix this problem before it gets out of control. I never said ooooo me ooooo what shall I do ooooooooo. I said specifically 5star this post if you want this changed. Not if you think I should get my item back or not.

Also just because it takes a couple days to get code into place and then more to test it on test center does not mean it is the only thing going on. Sure they may spend 5 minutes talking about it in a meating one day, it doesnt mean that it takes one day to talk about it. It only means that day they spent 5 minutes talking about the problem. If code wasashard as you make it sound then there would be no such things as hotfixes the day after the patch. They can fix things fast, they just choose to take the time on test center for most things. Which adds no programming time, only insures that it works right.

And who kills a Kimo with a rocket launcher??? A spork would be better. And who dies to a Kimogila???? You must really suck if you die to something that is equivilant to an acient bull rancor. Plus your analogy didnt even make sense to what my point was. I said if everyone found sporks a better way of killing a kimogila, then the empire should spend the time to make the best spork possible!

No read what I say here, The problem should be fixed before it gets out of hand, because I guarentee you it will. Has nothing to do with my item, my point about my item was that it was stupid of them to not spend the extra ten seconds returning it if they had the ability to track it. It had nothing to do with my insistance that this problem be fixed.

a) This is a problem that needs to be fixed! There is no reason for me to be able to delete someones item that I told him I'd purchase.

b) This is a low priority problem. This occurs infrequently and there are bigger problems.

c) A good temporary fix would be for the CSRs to simply give these items back to the players who place the offers and have no complicity in their destruction.

I don't understand the necessity of the policy screwing this guy.

The whole situation sucks. We had one guy do this on Chilastra who was quitting the game. He BO two items that totaled about 20mil. The auctioner delivered admirably and the jerk deleted the vendors and put up a bag called "oops".

It is definitely a form of griefing and the devs should implement a fix. Offered items should go into the players inventory if the vendor is destroyed. Go over the 60 limit if it has too. A players items should never be destroyable by another player.

I agree with others who say this isn't a big deal. You chose an insecure method to make the trade. Yes it is used often and usually nothing bad happens as a result. But that doesn't absolve you or anybody else of responsibility for the risks involved in using that method to make the transaction.

That said, I agree it would be nice if they made that interface "secure" as well, but I think it would be a waste of resources given how many other problems are in this game.

IMO, there isn't even anyroom for such a fixon the top 100 list of issues. At most, a warning that the item will poof if the vendor you place it on is deleted may be in order, but only if said warning is very easy to do.
