This is a stupid comment. You have no idea about the persons business idea. He might have a well-stocked vendor which have those items that few people buy.
If youare stocking 2-3k of items and 10% don't sell in 30 days that is 2-300 items you need to restock.
If anyone is not running their business properly then it is you. There are a lot of other ways to track bad sales than having to use the 30 day time-out to know which items don't sell good enough.

Anyway I am curious, you are a BE selling pets. That is not the most hot item to sell. Don't you run into having items dropping to stockroom?

I hope the Devs do read this and impliment when the merchant revamp comes around (or earlier). Seems pretty easy to just remove the 30 day limit. It would actually be less code and reduce load on the servers.
The point of the 30 day limit is that you have to be around every 30 days to keep your stuff in the world other wise it just stays there forever. A relist button would ease the pain without giving everyone a pass to store all their items indefinitely.
Isn't that what Vendor Maintanence is for? It would be a lot easier if they just capped the maintanence pool so it could only hold 30 days worth. That way you wouldn't even need to relist items but it would still require your attention and would be nice and easy to do. Think about it, Walmart doesn't need to restock the same item on the same shelf every 30 days for no reason. But they do need to give their employees some attention now and then (pay checks).
This is one of the best ideas I have seen regarding this topic. It removes a major time sink from the game, which represents the direction the devs are pushing the game; that is, removing time sinks. In addition, this doesn't represent a huge change to the current system.

The 30 day limit is absultely neccessary IMO, however, there should be an easier way to restock the vendor. It is lame if you have to restock 100 single furniture items for the same price as beforeand having to click on each of them and setting the price again... that should be made a lot easier - e.g. just mark all items you want to put up again for the same price as before and put them up with one click. Problem solved....

My favorite part of the whole process (heavy sarcasm) is the "auction unsuccessful" email. No matter what you do, you will get one of these for every item you list that does not sell. There is NO way to avoid it either. Even if I want to relist items BEFORE the 30 day timeout (which I do quite often), I STILL get spammed with that stupid email when a manually pull an item to relist it.
This is what I want:
- The ability to "opt out" of the auction unsuccessfu email
- A button to relist multipleitems that are in the stockroom at the same prices. It is ok if I have to select those items first.
- A option to select and relist an item that is still on sale, BEFORE it falls into the stockroom. When I am stocking a vendor I tend to relist all items that have less than a week to go. It is a major pain in the ass to pull items to the stockroom just to relist them at the same price. (and you get one of those damn emails anyway...)
I can't predict what will sell from one month to the next. My volume on various less popular weapons can vary radically. In order to not miss out on sales, I need to keep a healthy inventory on my vendor. Sometimes a weapon will sell out in a week and other times half of them are still there when 30 days rolls around. I have found no way to predict trends in sales to prevent overstocking. Prognostication is not my strong suit.

this is awesome.. i've been off playing EQ2 for the last 6 months .. i left SWG specifically because of NO changes being made to merchant.. it was taking me 4-5 hours a day to run a virtual business.. anyhow.. just warms my heart to see that in 6 months.. NOTHING has been done about this.. at all..
where as in the 6 months i've played EQ2... i have seen many many many many many (insert many many many "many's" here) changes that people asked for.. whole systems changed.. not just simple changes.. but interface changes.. game mechanics changes.. they just plain and simple listen to what people want.. they understand people want it to be a fun game..adn to enjoy it.. not to have to wrestle with an ugly unruley interface for hours on end.
anyhow.. good luck to all those who percivere.. /salute to you.

Please do something about this! I am so sick of restocking, I feel like I spend half my time keeping up with vendor dumps. I run a mall with 12 vendors and it's all I can do to keep up at the very least there should be a way to select multiple items at a time when in the sell screen or at least keep the price next to the item in the stockroom screen so you can just click sell and it restocks it.
