Thread: In Dev Merchant
The STOCKROOM BUG IS the priority issue. Why isnt it the priority for developers. Merchants cant sell on the bazaar because of unretrievable items. We are the ones that should be favored using the bazaar, not kept off it.
Please give us an ETA on stockroom fix.
I had an opportunity to meet with a CSR last night about a corpse-related issue, which I quickly turned to a discussion of Vendor issues, since I have about 8 people with tickets active about my resource vendor. He saidbasically "We know this is a problem, but there's nothing we can do about it now". I felt he was being sincere, since they're mostly hourly-paid people, not developers. I was disappointed..but I knew a patch was coming and they KNOW ABOUT OUR PROBLEMS..so hope sprang eternal.
Today I saw this thread and my heart sunk. "With SO many issues out there, " I thought, "perhaps they just couldn't get to our issues in time.". I was willing to accept that, so I decided to hop over to the Dancer/entertainer section 'cause they often talk about erotic issues and I could use a lift.
THEY GOT A TON OF STUFF FIXED!! I WAS STUNNED!
The got new dances and animations, fixes to minor issues like how bands synch up for a song, and a plethora of other new stuff to the extent that I felt like a stepchild!
Not to be impaitient or ungrateful..but is adding 9 flourishes to "poplock" really a game-breaking issue?
For the future..could we Merchants please have the Dancer/Entertainer team work on our issues? If they are done inserting entire animations, fixing processes and basically finishing up the entertainer classes, I"m sure they have time to help our Merchant team get to MAJOR GAME BREAKING issues that affect the entire game economy.
Thank you

I am truly stunned..
Just to get this straight: In beta, they kill the bazaars by making it almost free to post, and dropping the price max to 3k. Then they justify it by saying that the vendors will be linked to the bazaars, and that we will have special bazaar postings on the bazaar for a slightly increased fee. Then comes the issue of not being able to place vendors anywhere but our own structures. Then we cant trade a vendor so the houses we have admin rights to can hold our vendor. We are not able to move some vendors, or rotate them. Losing items in the vendor. The vendor screens not refreshing automatically upon use, resulting in an apparantly empty looking vendor. Then we get to advertising not working, and entire skill boxes designed to reduce the bazaar fees (I cant wait to get a reduction on the 20 credit fee.. it will make my life that much better). The list continues to grow.
But there is hope on the horizon.. a MAJOR patch fixing a large number of issues that have been well documented from mid beta 3 and earlier. The patch notes are released! and.. well.. we get morexp from vendors now.. and some exploit was fixed.. and some obscure fix that reads suspitiously like a severe nerf.. and well.. thats it.. hmm.. ok..
At least they fixed admin privaledges on factories and houses right! oh.. wait.. nope.. not that either.. hmm.. wait a sec.. what did they really fix again? fighters? oh yeah.. they were terribly unplayable.. entertainers? well.. if they didnt get more dances, their career was over.. I am sure half of that class was about to leave without being able to sync their dances up..
This is almost as pathetic as the melon nerf..

Fixed the max sale price on vendors being the same as the bazaar.
Okay this is just BS. By putting a max sale price on vendors you completely KILL the merchant profession. If I want to buy a stack of 10 large houses and get a bulk discount, by forcing a max price on vendors you've now foreced any merchant to have to become his own vendor and sell them MANUALLY, and does not get ANY merchant XP for it. This is retarded....(and I don't mean mildly, I mean window-licker, hockey helmet glad, short bus retarded). By enforcing a price cap, you've effectively eliminated the benefit to even having vendors and you'll still have a bunch of crap on the bazaar. If I went thru the trouble of buying the merchant skill, then I should have the right to sell a house for 10k thru instant sale instead of having to Auction it off, otherwise there's no point in my even having a vendor or trying to make deals so that I have items to put in my vendor. All in all, capping vendor sales prices is dumber than a bag of hammer, and one of the stupidest moves to date. By having price caps you remove all incentive for PC's to visit other peope's vendors, because anything they DO have will be the same crap that's on the bazaar, and the profession is doubly killed.
This measure isn't going to fix the economy, let the economy level itself out...it will, give it time, but don't limit our ability to sell things for a fair price. If I buy something on Dathomire for 2900, and I have to travel to get it, I should be allowed to sell it for what I paid, the travel involved, and a modest profit...otherwise there's no point of my ever going up the merch tree.
(to be blunt)
by SoE going this route, it kills all incentive to even advance in the class. Kill the incentive for the profession and nobody will play it.
I will say it again...
I think that there is a bug where you have a vendor that has a max set of 3000.
I will send an email to the Corespondant center seeking more info.
I am grateful for all the new additions to SWG, but disappointed to see the merchant problems getting so little Dev attention.
Merchant = one messed up profession.
You guys have been freaking out about this for two days…
Read the following sentence very carefully:
“Fixed the max sale price on vendors being the same as the bazaar.”
Now, Q, or whoever originally wrote the sentence is not lit major. The intent is not intuitive or crystals clear to the casual read. But technically, grammatically, the idea expressed is that there was a bug that made vendors cap their sales at 3000, but that that bug was fixed.
The sentence used in the post actually says that. But people misconstrued it and have been freaking out, feeding of each other’s indignation ever since.
Perhaps a little punctuation would help
“Fixed: the max sale price on vendors being the same as the bazaar.”
An extra word or two, and some conjugation might help:
“Fixed: The max sale price on vendors should no longer be(ing) the same as the bazaar.”
Probably the sentence should have been scrapped and re-written:
“Fixed a problem whereby some vendors enforced a maximum sale price; this feature should be on the bazaar, but not on vendors.”
There is no cap. There was never ment to be one. Please stop yelling and screaming about a problem that does not exist.
