"sorry to have to tell you but with 6 vendors at 100 xp per vendor per hour is 14,400 a day ."

No, we get 150 xp per hour per vendor. So at six vendors that's 900 xp per hour.

Times 24 hours is 21,600 per day. I think. I've done it like six times now and always get that number so I'm pretty sure that's right (my math has never been good).

Doc, can we PLEASE get this stuck to the top?

Ravenmist stuck a similar thread to the top of the dancer forum to cut down on the holo-tourist dreg there, I think it's been very helpful to both the holo-tourists and the REAL dancers.

Total Time to Complete - 22.9 days

This does not include the 50 xp per person/per building with access feesevery 15 minutes, and another 50 per person every 10 minutes for looking at one of those vendors. That's a potential 500 xp per person for every hour you can recruit members of your PA to help you out.

There is NO way getting master should take 22 days....no way at all...

Get Management 4 FIRST, before any other single merchant skill.

I would suggest NOT setting an access fee, as this will deter return customers more than anything else.

HIGH traffic areas are THE KEY to fast merchant xp; that and things people want to buy and a pleasant environment for them to do it.

it took me about 19-20 days to get master. as it was what my first holo told me. i didnt try to grind through it either i hunt holos but not for a long period of time and found one, it said merchant. sounded good to me. im keeping it til i get my next holo but i dont go crazy hunting holos like some people, when i get it i will change from merchant. and like most people said while you wait you can even try to master something else.

100% true .

im hologrinding merchant.

my first holo said image designer. mastered it in a day. then dropped it.

2nd holo said merchant. ugh.

Went up master artisan first while I waited for my single vendor and friends to get me the merchant xp for novice merchant... that was good, for it let me make speeders and real nice powerup schematics (i have like 10k units worth of schematics).

Since im keeping master rifleman and some TKA, I began to drop the artisan trees (minus bussiness of course) as I began to up merchant.

To 'grind' merchant its best to find an empty spot , preferable near guild halls or player cities or outside npc cities like coronet, put up 4 small houses next to each other. access fees on each.

I put high quality crafting stations inside each house too. Put vendors inside the houses as I went up the management tree (selling the powerups and a 1cr bike a day on a random house vendor.. this makes people come a lot..gotta love cheapskates). Powerups sell for 1 credit per 2 units or 1k per a crate (cheap for cheapskates)

My guildies help me by visiting the houses ...the guildies that are crafting (and even nonguildies at times) grind inside my houses (and thus give me good xp per 15 mins), people sometimes walk by and visit the houses, allured at times by the 'cheap' and 'find the 1credit bike a day' in my house signs.

and while all this was being done, I began upping carbineer, taking advantage of being able to master another proff or get high in it as I go up merchant.. when I run out of skillpoints i'll begin trading rifleman for carbineer. so far im 1.0.0.3 carbineer and going up fast. Im sure I can finish carbineer and be starting on pistoleer by the time i finish merchant

having already mastered commando, master marksman, master scout, image designer, and master tkasi and master artisanI hope that by eliminating the ranged proffessions first I may geta silent holo as my next holo. or even better yet, unlock.

"But that's the problem, JTG! I wanna be able to continuously and repetitively click to get it FASTER."

The problem here is that a huge chunk of the hologrinders simply use 3rd party macro programs to click through it for them. Merchant not being one of those, they are naturally irritated that they don't get a bonus in speed for being a Master AFKer.
