I personally think it's a poor implementation. What algorithm is used for this awful search? There seems to be no rhyme or reason to it. And for certain categories, thousands upon thousands of results. Why not allow us to perform an "advanced search" where we can have a more robust search engine? I use the bazaar and vendor search to look for good priced DE resources. Search categories like "Minerals"are too vague and yield too many (random) results. I'd like to see the ability to search on an item name (thinking in terms of resources). My suspicion is this would require and enormous amount of additional horsepower in the data centers that runs these games, and the cost wasn't worth the benefit.

Also, has anyone noticeditems being listed completely wrong??????? Example: the other day I was browsing for an uber copper vendor. While the stuff typically goes for 175 cpu at the cheapest, I found some at 20 cpu (so I thought). I grab the waypoint, head to the vendor, only to find the item isn't in any of the vendors at the location! I go back to the vendor search, the item is still there - Copper (Eweodehi). I look on the details of the item, only to find out it's Fermionic ore. I didn't check items other than copper, but I found countless more times where the item listed on the search screen said it was the uber copper and the details says it's something completely different.

Now THAT'S depressing. Wouldn't that just be the cherry on top?

If SOE had restricted vendors to being placed inside Player Cities from the outset, that would have concentrated them enormously, made the cities livelier-- with a dozen shoppers at once -- any one of which you could have asked "Hey! The Chefs in this town SUCK! Anyone know where I can find a good one?" This is a solution that takes LESS coding, is LESS disruptive (and I say that with every one of my vendors placed in an NPC city's ring), more social, and has far more fringe benefits to the cities & player community. As it stands, if you find two other people in the same shop with you, it's a red letter day.

Who's the one with short vision? Come again?

Luckily we dont have your vision in game.
Why should I be forced to join a Player City just to place a vendor? Yes, if that is your big Merchant idea you have very very short vision.
I could rip your replies to bits too but that would be feeding the troll and i have no time for bitter ex players, they bore me.

The other problem with this of course is that we haven't always had player cities.
