I've never gotten the restored item messages so I don't think that is it.

What I would like to do but haven't had the time is for someone with a spare vendor slot to put up a vendor and put some credits in it and see if it has the same behaviour with no items for sale. This would debunk the "varied rate" theory that I'm getting from various sources.

i've got 5 vendors right now with nothing on them, if you still need the information i can check them for you if you want >shrug< i still got another day left on merchant and i can keep it an extra day or 2 if you guys need it

Is anything going to be done about this?

DarkOracle,

Good stuff. Can you PM me with the exact server and location of the vendor used for this test? I would like to turn all of this over to QA and see if it gets them closer to a solution.

Ok, I have been tracking my vendors for the last month or so ( I have 4 of them and they all have a stated rate of 10 credits/hour ) to see if I could figure out what has been going on with the maintenance rates and my answer to the question is: I DON'T have a clue.I tried tocover as many things as possible, so with that in mind my reasoning went as follows: I would check my vendors maintenance whenever I was near them, I would add different amounts of maintenance to the vendors, I would add maintenance at different schedules, and I would use the /earthtime command to keep the date and time consistent.

So, with that in mind I tracked my vendors from 4/25 to 6/11 (the exact data is presented in the message to follow with the Actual Credtis/Hour used calculated between visits). The summary of this test: The biggest thing that comes to light is the fact that vendor maintenance withdrawl is NOT DONE using the fixed stated rate (as you can see by the data, rates varied anywhere from a low of 4.95 c/h to a high of 41.68 c/h. That is a HUGE difference from the stated rate of 10 credits/hour. Also, rates seem to be more consistent when you check the vendor everyday and it has a low amount of money in it (although this is not entirely true, as the data below suggests). The last thing you'll notice: the average maintenance rate for the vendors over this period of time was 13.04 c/h. It's still over the 10 c/h rate that is stated, but it isn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.

Anyway, I hope this information helps. I would like to see the vendors maintenance become more consistent like harvesters and buildings.

Sorry I had to split the data up, the HTML formatting was making the message too long. Here it is:

Hrmmm, I'll have to start scrutinizing my vendors too, I'll start up a log for mine too.
