I'm simply expressing my view that you are "not the brightest" person out there. No offense, really. It just seemsthat "deep thoughts" are something that don't come easy to you.
My reason for thinkning this? Your post as a whole.
Does anyone agree with me? Scroll up and you will see a line of them.
You have to think of what the long-term effects of this are and how it will change the mechanics of the game. And once you've come to your conclusion you must as yourself, "Is this good for me? Is this good for the game". You somewhere along the thought process stumbled over stupidity and came upon the conclusion that this change would be a good thing for you. Heh, who am I to argue with another player though. Maybe your play-style is as borked as your IQ. I just can't imagine anyone wanting to travel to 50 "mom/pop" stores to get what they need to "play the game".
Maybe if it's shopping you like then you should go play the Sims online. Oh wait, I think that bombed at launch. My point exactly.

Personally, I like not having the middleman. I am my own middleman as well. I make my items, I sell my items, in as large of a variety as possible to cater to traffic coming through.
How am I to supply buyers with as many colours and colour combinations so they can find exactly what they need if i can only have 660 items for sale?
If this idea goes through I'll be blowing up my shop and going full service on main city bazaars (Coronet, Bestine, Theed). But that raises the annoyance of such a small limit on items I can sell there at a time as well. It's almost as if the Devs don't WANT players to find what they want.
While I'm ranting, I'll add in how much I loathe having to resell thousands of items that didnt make it off my vendors every 28 days. It takes hours to reprice and resell everything and it's just a general pain in the arse to do.

Ummmmm...sorry...but if ANYONE can honestly say they want to pay to be able to run around spamming "I can sell stuff for you! I can sell stuff for you! I have 100 vendor spaces left! send /tell !!!" in this game then I got 10 million credits for them....

Fine i'll accept the fact that you can't have that you can't have a real merchant in a video game.
So why make us waste our skill points on it to sell our items?

OK, I deal in resources. I have managment 4 in merchant at the moment, but have mastered merchant twice in the past.
The proffession gives me 1 thing.. the ability to have different vendors for different things.. but "I" could theoretically work with only 1 vendor....in fact I would rather have only 1 vendor and unlimited space, then 6 vendors with any type of restriction.
On my resoruce vendor alone there are typically 600-1000 stacks of mostly 100k unit resource blocks ranging from last weeks spawn to last Oct..... I wide selection that caters to a specific group... crafters...
There is not much of anything priced under 100-200k cr....
From my days as an Armorsmtih I would stock 1-4k pieces of armor (4+different styles of composite), Ubese, some padded, and loot made and sliced armor.. 1 style of armor would not even be realistic under the propposed limit.
Plain and simple as a crafter and merchant you could not run any real selection of goods from your vendor, and merchants who do have extra space avail arnt the types who I would want to had over 10-100mil cr in itmes to for them to sell on consignment.

I have 5 Merchant characters, 3 are 3/4/0/4 and 2 are Master Merchant.
I'll stop selling anything at all if this change goes in. Merchant is a necessity, not fun. Too bad the devs cannot understand this. So sad to see this game degrade with every patch. I miss the old days. At least they just talked about doing stupid things last August.
