Two words:
Vendor Roulette. I'm looking forward to placing another vendor and playing the whole 'create-destroy-create' game again. Yay.
I would love to see the Image Designer thing happen, as I would pay bajillions to tweak my current vendors.

This whole thread makes me smile because I DO know the frustration of trying to find a decent looking vendor. But reading that statement above makes me think there is a game in here somewhere. A merchant duel...who can create the ugliest vendor in no more than 5 or 10 tries...
If merchants ever do a cross-server party, it should be one of the party games.

Yeah, I don't know what the deal is with the Human(oid) vendors. They are, without exception, always very, very unattractive...
How about letting us "create" these vendors? Please, at least make the "randomness" look decent.

People have been asking for the ability to control vendor looks in some way for as long as I've been a merchant (over a year now), and instead of adding this feature SOE is nerfing the ever loving crap out of the merchant proffession.
All other gaming companys > SOE

Gosh golly, a idea within a statement! ...
I'd actually pay more to get a good looking/not hideousvendor. Not that I think that should be an option, but I would... I really would.
I'd pay double the upkeep... triple even! Heck, I'd pay ten times as much if I could choose the appearance myself

With the recent Image Designer revamp we merchants was hit by something I've named "The Chunk-Of-Ugly-Curse".
We thought we had it bad before with ourmummified, obese vendors with odd facial features.
But look what we have now; mummified, obese vendors with odd facial features+ a zillion different neon colors!
After cycling through 137 female, twi'lek vendors for my tailor shop I finally managed to get one that did look quite ok (except the fact that her lips are so large and orange that you could use her as a fog light).
- I do NOTwant an overweight,300 year old twi'lek with bright yellow skin, dark purple markings, neon green lipstick and blood red eye shadow! Nor do I wish to cycle through hundreds upon hundred of similiar horribly ugly vendors before I get one that look "ok-ish".
- I want my customers to stay in my shop and smile due to pleasant vendors and decor... not have them running away screaming, bleeding from their eyes.
Something really has to be done about this. So here's my suggestion for improvement and interdependancy:
#1 Allow merchants to modify the vendor upon creation with the 'base-palette'
#2Give Image Designers the possibility to "design" our vendors with the advanced palette.
#3 While we're at it, allow Droid Engineers to paint our droid vendors so we can get some diversity on those aswell.
I honestly don't think that the above 3 suggestions would be to hard to implement. Something with the /consent-feature perhaps?
So... is it even possible to get a dev to see this prayer?
And... what do the rest of you think?
OMG!
Too funny Pooka. I guess I got lucky with the mongloid looking Wookie and the pastel theamed vapid Zabrak male. This is my first visit to these forums as I recently became a merchant to sell the goods my alt crafts. Your statements about the state of the profession echo my own feelings as I enter into it. It seems the whole point is the selling of goods. The xp gained is spent on skill boxes that give you perks to selling that allow you to become more proficient at it in a variety of ways. I am sadly disappointed to learn of the lack of control over these "chunk of ugly" vendors, and feel many excellent suggestions have been made that could lead to positive change.I particularly like the ideas of customazation kits made by a variety of crafters. It would add more depth to the game and save us from wasting hours of game time attempting to find a vendor your willing to endure looking at for any length of time.

I just read the new publish-notes from Thunderheart and it made me laugh. Not by joy, but out of fear and angst.
We now get 12 vendors at Master Merchant. Did you hear me, yesThunderheart said twelve.
Imagine the amount of vendors you have to cycle through before getting 12 decent looking vendors.
*can't stop laughing hysterically* ... It took me 137 cycles to get one decent twi'lek. Just think about the time to get twelve decent ones...
...
...
*stops in her tracks* ... Ehm ... Thunderheart? ... *squeeks like a little mouse* ... Ehm, sir? ... Sir? ...Could we pwease pwease pwetty pweeeeeze get larger tents? ... *bats eyelashes*
Do you know how sweaty and icky it'll be with twelve people in a small tent. It'll smell awful in there! Especially with all the old people that'll stand there selling our wares.
*cackles like a mad person and shrinks into a corner* ....

Only thing I see a Problem with is comunicating with the ID how you want the Vendor to look as you likly will not see the Live Interface.
BTW you should be able to paint you droid vendors yourself with a basic pallet as all players can Paint there reg Droids with a Custom kit.
Maybe put both these Iteams in the same branch as Uniforms? And have Vendor look Decay over say 90 days so that you have to reset the look ever once and awhile to keep down skill stealers some what.

Gladly it was changes so you don't have to have 12 Vendors.
But I still HATE the way vendors usually look...
Please give us a way to make them look good
