I've never gotten the %TT to work either. Can I fathom a guess that the devs know about this? If I were an optimist I'd say they are probably working feverishly at it right now. hehe.
BTW yeah, all my vendors talk to each other too. Kind of funny watching them ask each other if they are interested in this or that. I'll have to do something creative like the stormtrooper-rebel thing, that's pretty funny!!

In EQ it was %t, not %tt. Both are SOE......... *shrug*. I have no clue of course, and have no desire to customize mine so far.

I got the following message of a CSR:
"I have just sent this information, along with your inability to
add barks to your vendor (the %TT should work) to testing and
development for further investigation, and will let you know the status
of this as soon as I hear back from then."

Let's hope it will work soon, once I get an update I will let you know

Never worked for me either - Is it part of the grand wishlist? It must be possible, because they do it by default, don't they?

Its one of our issues yes. Yes it is supposed to work and this whole thing came up because I was told that in fact it WAS working and text that I had in my guide saying it didn't work was removed. Hence this challenge.

Sounds like another SOE slip up to me... But then, I'm just a lowly player

Someone got it working. I visited the DTC mall on Dantooine, right outside the gate of the Imp outpost, on Bria. One of the vendors not only barked at me ( soandso says to Dateka Ostia) It also says, you really look like you need blahblahblah Dateka. Blah blah blah etc. inside the message.

Are you sure it wasn't one of the default ones?
There are a number of default barking scripts that say something along the line of "Hi there <name>, you look like you need <whatever>."
The problem isn't with them, but with the custom ones where you are supposed to be able to add a customers name, race, etc to it.

"says to Dateka" isn't using %TT it does that anyway. For this to be working it would have to be something like: "Hi Dateka, come take a look at my shiny new weapons" and it would have to be a custom message instead of the canned ones. If you feel it was custom could you try to contact the owner of the vendor and find out how they did it? The one you are describing sounds like a canned message to me.
