Elyssa wrote:My personal new and revised BUG list as requested:Merchant Bugs:1) When relisting from the stockroom, there is not enough data available. Items from the sale window should be seen here (bid price, time remaining, etc.). Also, when relisting an item, the window does not come up with the previous bid price and description for the item. The price is instead the same price you entered for the previous item and the description field is blank.2) Chat variables (%TT) do not work in custom ad barking. The canned messages will refer to the player by name, but it will actually say "%TT" when using a custom message.Non-Merchant Bug:3) /afk flag is disabled when you shuttle. In the absence of some sort of /busy command to send an auto-reply, many players use the /afk auto-reply message. This gets turned off when you shuttle and disables the message.
Heh..thank you for continuing the crusade to fix the stupid %TT bug that TH claims doesn't exist!
We might want to list Sales Tax as one of our bugs too. I know that it is a city bug but it affects us as well. That money is supposed to go to support the cities we live in. At present its being either deposited in our accounts or vanishing completely.
Ok, before I answer the modified question, I'm going to rant a bit.
"We want the your three issues. No, wait, we want your top three bugs!, No, wait! We want your top two bugs, plus one that doesn't have anything to do with you!"
Sigh. This is just so.....pathetic. Sony can't even express themselves when they TRY to communicate. How in the name of all that's holy can a multi-billion dollar company not be able to find people that can express a simple request in plain English??? For this request to be so fubared, the problem has to be at multiple levels. First: the people in charge don't know how to clearly state their needs, plans, and desires to their customers. Second: the people responsible for releasing such communications to the public either don't understand *how* to do their job, or are too intimidated by the bosses to question what they're handed. Third: the Correspondents have no power to question what they're handed, or are discouraged from doing so. So what you have is a cluster-flub like this request--and the corresponent is the one left holding the bag as he or she has asked for the wrong information, has to explain it to the players, and now do TWICE the work: once gathering the wrong information and once gathering the right info; not to mention the latter task is made harder by sorting through people still answering the wrong question--and the deadline is certainly short, now isn't it? And management can now reply "obviously you're all just overstating the matter--there's no problem since the players didn't have anything to say in answer to our question." And they probably even believe it, which is just sad.
Now. On to answering the question (as it currently exists).
General Note: The merchant class has not been one heavily cursed with bugs. It does have some very significant design flaws, which have already been addressed in this thread. Since SOE doesn't care enough to address them, let's get on with the bugs that do exist. And since the imposition of the GWVL, there aresome humdingers.
1. The list of items in the GWVL have a number of bugs: Primarily, it's necessary to play "whack-a-mole" with the buttons to get the first list of items to appear. (ClickVendorLocations, the category resets. Clicka category, the scope resets. clickGalaxy-wide, the category resets.Click theCategory, now you can browse. No items seem to show in Region). Once you do get a display,a random number of items show (140-700), but the same vendorsalways show on a given page. Advancing the pages only advances by 100 items, not the full amount of the display. These two bugs favor merchants that always appear near the beginning of the list.A bug within the bug: a certain fewitems will appear on nearly every page, over and over and over. Since we're stuck with a system that we expressly did not want,IT WOULD BE NICEIF IT WORKED.
2. Vendors do not show on the planetary listing & overhead map after a server up, until someone enters the shop andcauses
Non Merchant:
3. Mouse mode resets after shuttling, requiring the player to hit ALT again (don't tell me to adopt amodeless keymap, I have learned this one, and I'm not changing. Fix it.)
- The GWVM (Galaxy-Wide Vendor Mess)
Honestly I think the best option here would be to pull it and rewrite it from scratch properly and in communication with Merchants, but if we're limitied to just "fixing bugs" with a minimum of effort, here are some of the issues with the GWVM that lead me to feel that it is bugged:
- Sorting does not work. It sorts only a sub-range of the items.
- Pages display the wrong number of items. This also leads to items being listed on multiple pages.
- An items position in the listing appears to be random to all intents and purposes, leaving some Merchants out in the cold because their items are on the last pages, which few people read, with nothing they can do about it.
- Item names and stats sometimes fail to match.
- Categories need a revamp. This may be considered a feature request, but the fact of the matter is that there cannot be a widely useable vendor search system without a category revamp.
- Vendors containing a number of items exactly divisible by 100 display a "next page" button on the last page even though the next page is blank. Furthermore, attempting to view the next page leaves the user with blank page with no "previous page" button.
And a non-profession bug. Might be considered a DE bug, but since it actually affects their customers, not them, I thought I'd mention it:
- Droid Naming. I want to be able to name an R2 unit R2-P4 or something like that and to name a Protocol, LE-Repair or Surgical droid full stop!

* Clunky sales interface - Needs the ability to relist multiple items from the stockroom (with their previous price and description intact) with a single button as well as offer multiple items for sale with similar prices and descriptions with a single button.
May I add to the last part, the ability to purchase or reject multiple offers at the same time.
* Horribly ugly vendors - We need the ability to control the look of vendors during creation -OR- give image designers the ability to alter them after creation.
I would really like to see IDs have this feature.
And my number 3 : Fix the galaxy vendor search. Don't repeat items on multiple pages, tie it to merchant skills, give some sort of bonuses to higher level merchants, etc, etc.
Not a merchant issue! Talk to Guruweaver.
I stay with the vendor interface *bugs* we listed under issues.

Feel my pain. 2000 items starting on page 16 now.
