1, Restock items for same price

2.Eliminate or extend time an item can be listed (30 day thing)

3.Since I use 3 of my vendors for storage only, would like a "accesible warehouse" that you couldwarehouse your crafting supplies in and could sort/retrieve items from w/o having to list as a 99999999 price.

Honorable Mention - Skill point adjustment to motivate being a "Master Merchant" or adjust skills needed to list galaxy wide

Honorable Mention 2 - Load or restock any vendor regardless of their location from the same termial

Honorable Mention 3 - Record Keeper (tells me what has sold over the last 30 days) - example: Sold 22 Armor Repair Kits @ $2500.00 each

  • Merchant 1: Relist
As described by Elyssa, with multiple selections.

  • Merchant 2: Vendor Looks
As described by Elyssa; I prefer giving the ability to change them to IDs, but either way is fine.

  • Technically Non-Merchant (but very much related): Vendor/Bazaar Categories
    • Resources should break down just like they do in the survey tools. (Down to 'Titanium Aluminum' and similar.)
    • Factory Crates should either be their own main category with hierarchical subcategories of their encosed item type or sort into their enclosed item type's category.
    • Items currently in Misc/Generic Items should be grouped and/or reclassified where possible.
    • Categories that currently have no sellable items should be hidden.
    • I'm sure there's plenty of other things people have asked for with the categories; this is not intended to be an exhaustive list.

If you must restrict me to one of these suggestions, I'd start with the Resources list. It'd help my fellow crafters, especially those using the Global Search.

  • Non-Merchant: Building Loading Delay
In case categories aren't separated enough from Merchant for you, how about the ever-increasing amount of time it takes for items to appear inside player structures once you enter them? In a recent shopping trip I had many waits of 30 seconds or more, with a peak of over a minute. Very annoying.

* Issue 1: Merchant Uniqueness

We have been so devalued as a profession that there's little left. There are several solutions to this issue, but the real issue is that we have lost our value as a profession. Some of the solutions to this problem include fixing things that they broke a while back - like allowing us to sell more items on our vendors (4000 is too few for some small businesses), tying vendor advertising to merchant ability, galaxy-wide auctions from our vendors. I'm sure there are lots of other great ideas that people have had to bring value back to the merchant profession, but the issue is that we're a waste of sp now.

* Issue 2: Wasted Time

There are several ways to streamline this, but the issue is that it takes too much of my time to run a business. Having to restock every few days because of the low 4000 item limit sucks. So does taking several hours of my time every 30 days to re-list. Longer list times, a restock button, more items on the vendor - these would all help. I'm sure there are others, but the real issue is that being a merchant is much more of a time sink than it should be.

* Issue 3: User Interface

Several solutions have been brought up regarding the ugly and outdated user interface. Some of them relate to issue 2, but I think the user interface deserves its own issue point. Adding more categories and sub-categories, moving vendors that have been placed, creating them so they're not so ugly, getting rid of expired auciton emails. Just a few solutions that would make merchant better...

1) Sales Interface
- Better categorization so the customer can find the items they want *(doubly important now that vendors are searchable from the bazaar)*
- The ability to “group price” – select a group of items and list all of them with the same price and description
- The ability to “one click” re-list items for sale at the same price and with the same notes (one by one or in groups)
- Maybe the duration of a sale period could increase as merchant skill increases? (for example, 1 week for each Business/Merchant skill box?)

2) Consignment Support
- Help the merchant help the crafters – the idea is to make it easier for us to help them sell their stuff rather than encourage them to push for merchant to become a ‘non-profession’ that everybody can have. Not every merchant has the ready cash to buy the goods outright, just as not every crafter wants to stick their neck out and hope they don’t get stiffed by the merchant. Give us some sort of setup, maybe with a double-window initalization interface where the merchant and the consigner can agree to terms for a particular vendor, though I’d guess that you’d only be able to have one of these relationships set up for each vendor.

3) Vendor Appearance
- Free us from old overweight vendors (unless that’s what we want)! -- not only would this benefit merchants everywhere, it’d also be a nice perk (and source of income) for the Image Designers

naturally, the "more powerful" abilities should be tied to higher levels of Merchanting skill

1 vendor interface
everything mentioned above and the ability to set a per item price on crates and a per unit on resources.
2 consignment sales

3 Longer restock times and any restock action by me or purchase by customer resets the vendor delete timer

1: Vendor Interface.

- Relist button is needed.

- Ability to relist or list multiple items at a time is needed.

- Preferred ability: to have stacked items sell on a per-unit basis, so if you have 500k of ore, it appears as one listing, allowing someone to buy 50 or 500 or 5,000 units at the pre-set price.

- The ability to have your last used settings & layout remembered when you reopen a vendor interface.

- Consignment feature. (Ok, I'm slipping this in, it's really a separate issue.)

2: Galaxy Search & Bazaar

- Tie levels of search into skillpoints spent.

- The ability to have your last used settings & layout remembered when you reopen a bazaar/search interface.

- Accurate categories, including a category and subcategories for furniture.

- Accurately labeled items, such as all schematics sharing a category instead of "general."

- Non-repetetive listings. In addition to the standing problem of items showing up over and over, right now, when you try to search some categories on vendor search, you get 700 items to a page, and when you flip to the next page--instead of going from items 1-700, you go from 101-800!

3: Better Advertising.

- Kiosks, billboards, a special fee-based "Advertising" section on the Galaxy Search that allows you to advertise a shop or vendor instead of just an item. Available to Merchants only.

4: UGLY VENDORS MUST DIE! (I know, you said three, but I have to speak up on this too. It's not in my top three because it does not affect our functionality, though it remains important.)

- Let us create vendors to our liking like when we create a character.

- Let ID's adjust out vendors. This would be a huge boon to IDs and create steady, ongoing business for them into, well, forever.

- Let us rename our vendors, dangit!

I strongly disagree that UGLY vendors is a top 3...but look how many listed it. Create one and destroy it til you get one you like and dress them as you like could be one solution there.

I can appreciate the value of everyone's opinion, but if we get to pick 3...

Well, I guess you did didn't you? Just think about that one some more prior to submitting please! LOL

Ok, slight change to what we've been asked for (but I'm still gonna work in as much as possible).

They've asked for the top TWO bugs from OUR profession and ONEthat's not related to ANY profession.

This was a good start for the recompiled issues I am working on, but they seem to want bugs instead.

I need to get these submitted ASAP and will probably do so tomorrow.

Thanks.

Edit: On further clarification (this was not initially clear), they are looking for BUGS as opposed to "issues."

If I had one wish it would be for a stable interface when listing items, I hate it when I'm relisting stuff and it jumps halfway down the page. However that would be moot if my golden wish was implemented...

I'd wish for an automatic relisting option. As manager of our stores we could give our employees orders to automatically relist an item for the same price, or maybe reduce the price, if it fails to sell.

Going hand in hand with that would be a physical storeroom as a queue for listing items for sale. We could flag items and dump them in the warehouse (or they could even be listed straight from the factory) and then our employees would 'mark and stock' them. It would be so nice to be able to put a schematic in a factory and have it place directly onto a vendor.

My wrist would thank you if something like this happened.

Edit: I'd also like to have pearl/crystal qualities listed on vendors. And the ability to paint my walls inside my shop.

Tip to LEC/SOE: Sci-Fi MMO players don't necessarily belong to the same resource pool as fantasy MMO players.

Bug: JTL stores my spambot

Bug: Vendor listings were accidentally not tied to merchant ability

non-profession bug: categories for items are incorrect. My lightsaber kits are mistakenly placed in with 'wearable containers' for some reason. They should really be under Weapon -> Lightsaber Kit. Crates of resources are put in a lame, generic 'factory crate' category. This must have been an accident. There's also the real bug about how items show up listed as something else - maybe they can fix this while working on the other category 'bugs'.

My personal new and revised BUG list as requested:

Merchant Bugs:

1) When relisting from the stockroom, there is not enough data available. Items from the sale window should be seen here (bid price, time remaining, etc.). Also, when relisting an item, the window does not come up with the previous bid price and description for the item. The price is instead the same price you entered for the previous item and the description field is blank.

2) Chat variables (%TT) do not work in custom ad barking. The canned messages will refer to the player by name, but it will actually say "%TT" when using a custom message.

Non-Merchant Bug:

3) /afk flag is disabled when you shuttle. In the absence of some sort of /busy command to send an auto-reply, many players use the /afk auto-reply message. This gets turned off when you shuttle and disables the message.

* Clunky sales interface - Needs the ability to relist multiple items from the stockroom (with their previous price and description intact) with a single button as well as offer multiple items for sale with similar prices and descriptions with a single button.

Agreed 100%

* Horribly ugly vendors - We need the ability to control the look of vendors during creation -OR- give image designers the ability to alter them after creation.

Agreed 100%

* In-game support for consignment sales - The ability for a merchant to sell an item for another player with no upfront cash andhave the money from the sale automatically split between the merchant and the item 'owner' at a predetermined rate upon sale of the item. Both parties should receive email about the sale with data about their transaction.

Disagree with consignment sales. If someone wants to sell something, they should pickup novice artisan Business III, or sell it on the bazaar for up to 20K.

I'd rather see the vendor / bazaar interface reorganized. Since vendors are now visible on the galactic bazaar, it would make more sense to have items organized properly. Factory crates should be listed in item appropriate sections, etc....
