Wow, thanks for the suggestions! I think getting rid of the storage vendor is going to be my project for the day tomorrow. I appreciate all the input, and the fact that we managed to turn this from a "bag on G for having a vendor" to a "how to help" thread. =) I've heard it said before, but now I really see it... The SW:G community is the best in MMO's.

Doc, agreed that 150 is too low. For some characters, all they'd have time to do is craft and restock because they sell so fast. A sliding scale would be more fair, but I still don't think 150 would be acceptable as the "bottom-rung", but who knows, let's not get into what the scale or cap should be... That's an entire thread (or quite a few I'd imagine) on its own.

The problem with any storage device is that these items need to be also stored on a finite database. The developers have told us time and time again that they just don't have the room!

The ideas you're having are good, but something that allows a player to store either a massive amount, or unlimited amounts of items will never be done -- not while database space is finite.
