Thread: The Merchant's Friend Beta v.12
Man, this is so totally awesome!!! Great program and has immediately replaced my spreadsheet tracking - THank you!!!!!!!
Here are a couple of features that would help me and maybe a builk of others:
1. A way to input a bulk of data manually.
Since I have been merchant for awhile before finding you and your program, I have a large list of customer data. I ended up mocking up about 300 fake xxx.mail files to mirror this information so that your program would read them in and treat them just like my new sales. This is important because I want my old information on sales and customer lists to be included in your metrics. If there was a way instead to manually enter this information in the program, I think it would have been easier. Or perhaps, import the data from a CSV file or something.
2. A way to edit
Not exactly sure how, but here is why.One of my masters in chef. It is extremely helpful to my customers that I include the food stat in the name of the food, for example "Veghash {+15.7 bonus to creature harv, 13m]". Of course this stat changes the next time I run the food, maybe it is +18 for 15m or whatever.Since they are different names, they show up as two items in the program. Then I have to filter or otherwise manually add up my sales of Veghash by combining all the beghash items. Right now, I go enter each day's emails and delete the stat info off the name so it just reads "Vegash" and so now I get the totals to show up the way I want. Obviously on a heavy sale day this is taking a lot of time.
If there was a way I couldedit this in the program on the fly, that would be great. OR as an alternative, you could establish a rule that anything between a [ and a ] would be ignored by the program. As long as I put all the stat infor between brackets then your program would ignore it and just call it Veghash - which would also accomplish the feat.
Anyway, even without any of the above, you have written the single most greatest tool ever for SWG - even more than character calculators, resource spreadsheets, etc. etc etc.

Wonderful and I love the new changes. Now I can put my computer back to the local way of writing the date ![]()
