Thread: A Suggestion to Make Master Merchant a bit more useable/desirable...
But at that point, the merchant is nothing more than a mule account and that is to be avoided at all costs.

Seems we only have differences in the vision of how it should be implemented...
in my opinion the Merchant should only a) place a Vendor (and set the rules for the "customer") and b) remove a Vendor (in agreement with the "customer" or after a long enough warning.
If i would be in that situation i would not want to take a trip across dantooine because someone wants to relist a few loot items but doesnt live near a Shuttleport (whyever he would want to sell there...)
As I said, even if the vendor COULD be given to the other player, they lack the skills to be able to sell anything on it (and that ability is most definitely tied to your skill point expenditure) so it's a moot point.
Step 1: Merchant creates a Vendor (placed Vendor count +1), control device added to datapad
Step 2: Merchant customises the vendor (number of items, name of "customer",sales %, maybe ID it)
Step 3: Merchant trades Vendor to "customer"
Step 4: "Customer" places the Vendor whereever he wants
Step 5: "Customer" places Items on Vendor (with price, description & stuff BUT listed as in-active)
Step 6: Merchant activates the sales with the control device in his datapad.
For new items repeat Step 5+6
If the Vendor gets deleted by the "Customer" the Merchant gets an e-mail and placed Vendors -1
If the Merchant wants to delete the vendor (or drops Merchant) the "Customer" gets a 2 Week warning in which he can empty the Vendor and/or look for a new Merchant
I am a merchant I am not a vendor seller
if people want to sell items and refuse to train the skill of merchant they should have to work thru a merchant to sell them
any system which says, we create the vendor and give it away is not agreeble because then it is no longer a profession nor a skill
it is simply making a player into a tool for another player to use
the consignment idea listed in wants was formed and agreed to by the merchant community, not just one person posting hey we should do this
many threads many thoughts and tons of input wittled it into what is there, for the majority of the community that is what we want.

huh... as a merchant, I want to see my profession to become more useful to me, but maybe that's just me. if folks want to pick up some merchant to start their own bulky vendor that only holds 500 items, that's cool... but my skill point investment in merchant (and someone else's lack thereof) should make a difference.
Shrug, seems like the devs are doing merchant skill dilution.

it's one thing if the devs decide to do it, but quite another if we advocate it. things like that defeat the whole point of a sp-based system.

O.o
i believe so. hehe ![]()
it is like i said, IMHO, they need to totaly nerf the bazaar, not merchants. want a player economy, let us merchants do what we were made to do. and then add some new abilities like mentioned in the top issues.
