Thread: Merchant EXP
What I heard was this:
You get 150 exp points for every active vendor you have every hour. You get 50 exp points per sale.
But I can personally verify this is NOT the case. Can anyone tell me how merchant exp works?
I have a shop and all.. Im getting the EXP, I just dont know WHATS giving me the exp. (i've done several tests to see what gives me the exp, but I havent found out exactly)
Hi there,
Ok first off im going to apologize that i am lazy and this is going to sound VERY nub, but i really need to know what my best bet is for getting merchant exp. I have 1 house and 1 vendor, so could somebody give me the lowdown of like how much exp i get per sale, wat factors affect HOW much i get, etc. Im an armorsmith with no combat so i think that merchant would be cool for advertising and reduced costs and all that cool stuff too. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thx
You get merchant exp... get this... by SELLING STUFF.
I use the bazaar. Set harvesters on high % spots. Everyday, i collect ressources, sell on bazaar 1000 units for 2800 creds. Sells fast. I get tons of cash... and tons of merchant exp.
Also, since you get exp from selling, you can just buy and resell. I buy transmission disks 15k and sell them back 15k on my vendor, using a publicity chance cube on the bazaar. The exp i good.
I could be entirely wrong, but I believe you get 50 XP per hour that the vendor is up, 50 XP per access fee gathered, and 50 XP per USE of the vendor--even if the customer doesn't buy anything.
Of late, though, I've been bugged and my XP hasn't been doing much at all in terms of, well, showing up. The hourly stuffjust isn't accruing, but I do get vendor-view XP even when hourly XP doesn't accrue. Is there a way to get this reset somehow? Is logging completely off a good way to try to shake off the bug? (I ask this in hopes someone else will view this thread and assist!)
Yes, I know you can get merchant xp from the public bazzar. I had twice the amount of merchant xp for novice, before I even set up a vender.
The way I did it was through low cost items that peeps are gonna need. Survey tools, crafting tools, and power-ups.
Good luck.
Ok, here goes.
We gain exp by selling stuff.
Then, what is to stop to merchant from buying from each others non-stop and PL themselves? I mean, ask a friend to buy your stuff, and voilà, master merchant... NOT.
To prevent this exploit, merchant exp flows in very very slowly. So if you do sell for 10k on the bazaar, you won't see exp. But as you log the next day... surprise, there you have it, some exp. So, if you sell all the time, exp will gradually increase. A slow but constant one. Since the exp grows even as you are logged out, it ends up pretty fast. It's nice to log on and see a full box.
As for Publicity chance cube, here goes:
Let's say i wanna sell a Rebel Transmission Disk 1/4 for 14000 credits. I place it on my vendor.
I use my crafting tools and make a good old chance cube. But at the creation screen, i rename it to REBEL DISK 1/4!!!
Then i put it on the bazaar for 20 credits (to cover my fees). In the item description box, i write something like this: I have the rebel disk 1/4 for sale at 14k credits on my vendor, loc -XXXX, YYYY. Please buy this cube if you intend to purchase the disk, since i only have 1.
The name of teh cube gets the buyer's eye. Then, as they see it's a cube, the read the description. Free advertising!
