I doubt I would buy a mysterious package off a vendor if it's 99999999cr.
However, if you want a "private" vendor, you could always set one up in an adjacent house and throw a 50000cr entry fee on it. Just put the customer on the entry list and send him the waypoint.
Of course, if someone wants to pay me 50000cr to browse around, I have no problem with that

Wait, you are promoting honesty through trickery?

That's how I do it.
I also load some "dummy" packs with chance cubes named "Sorry, no refunds" in them.
It tends to promote honesty.

The innocent have nothing to fear.
The guilty get what they deserve.

So Elyssa, as correspondent, would you happen to agree with private structures has nothing to do with current system anymore and able to add vendors in it? This would be pretty good for guild discount sales or special orders...
I'm pretty sure dummy packs are not solution or meant to be solution really.
I believe making private structures able to hold vendors is much more easier than adding a private sale option to vendors.

As a PLAYER I happen to think that the current proposal for "directed sales" (located in the top issues thread) is the proper course of action to pursue in regards to this issue.
I should also add that I'm also working on updating all the "merchant issues" but there will be more info on that later.

Thanks for quick response. Those are one of 2 things in my list as a PLAYER. Ability to change buildings to private (which in some cases needed) and restocking.

This was nerfed because people were putting vendors in private structures and using them as item storage. They just never bothered to change that message...

I really like the 50000 credit entrance fee idea (wish I had thought of it
). You can still use that for guild stuff. You can add everyone in the guild to the entrance list with 1 name. It's something like guild: '(guild's name here)' or something. Doc or Elyssa probably know it. That way you can still have a private guild house with vendors, but you don't have to constantly manage the permissions lists...

Actually, Guild:xxx will NOT bypass the entry fee.
Someone must be specifically listed by name on the entry list, or they will have to pay it.
However, something I started doing a few months ago was to price my components to sell rather than at 99999999 cr.
Want to buy one of my crates of structural modules?
Great! They're priced at 6cpu.
If you buy them you will have paid me to replace them AND let me make a profit at the same time.
Sure, they don't sell very fast but they're not meant to. After all, they're just there for storage. When I'm ready to use them I'll just take them off sale.
If they sell out, I'll take the cash I got from them and go buy some more ore (3-4cpu on Gorath) and make more.

I win either way.
