Even though I would love a hotfix,

I perfer my Gals to have visable stock now.
So
I am settling in for a night of pull and sell,
becauseI would rather have it done
then worry and whine about it haveing to be done.

I do not doubt one bit Elyssa has nearly screamed how unjust this is..
and how she is probly cussing under her breath as she tries to convey the messages to us
{I so do not envy Dev, Mods, CSRs, or Cors their positions}

but it does not change my own practice doing what I can when I can
instead of waiting for a possibly.

noone's happy about it, but it doesn't look like the devs are just saying no because they want to. this seems to be actual database issues that probably can't be fixed in any fast/easy way.

I'm now kinda glad I use the original item name plus color in my items, so people can still match clothing items if they trust me

I'm sorry you feel that way, but I was given the final word on the situation.
It was done this way for a reason (which I won't even pretend to understand) and I have been specifically told that there will not be a hotfix for it.

Does that mean they won't change their mind tomorrow?
Who knows.

At this point you can either accept it and move on or live with bad data on your vendors until your items sell naturally over time.

No problem. Thank you for your efforts in all this. Do try to let them know how upset many people are.

I just deleted all my vendors with everything in them - the whole kit and kaboodle - redeeded the store and gave a happy newb a brand new house.

Nice to know one person is pleased.

I noticed in my vendors on the copy ofTC-BRIA (with CU) that all the items on them dissapear...erhm, really, i like much the possibility to make it manually, i dont trust the Devs to efficientlyprogram a convertion inside the vendors.

It is just lazy programing, they didnt want to break someone away from the other things they were working on to fix the problem with vendors, so what ever they told you is that they dont want to make the time to do it right, not that they cant but they wont.

scary though it may be, there's a solution which is starting to appeal to me as well... and I haven't even logged my merchant character back in yet after the "upgrade" (ahem...)

with all the changes the "upgrade" has made to existing items, a lot of my goods are now just so much crap... so much for the promise of maintaining parity when converting first they kick me in the nads by rendering my carefully hoarded and collecteddoctor resources worthless, then while I'm writhing on the ground, they kick me in the teeth with this...

yeppers... SWG sure is a lot more fun... not.

OK guys and gals - it's like this.

If the Devs say "it can't be done" they are both accurate and inaccurate at the same time. Let me explain.

If they (the Devs) had unlimited time, yes, it could be done (wether something is in your house or vendor, it's still simply records in a database table). However, someone (I assume some marketing weenie that wants to capitalize on the release of the Star Wars Episode 3 movie, but that's just my opinion) made the decision that ROTW must be released by a certain date - NOT open to negotiation. Since everything for ROTW was programmed for the CURB, the CURB HAD to be live before ROTW was released.

Given this, let's say there were 1500 things that had to be done to make the conversion perfect. Time, however, only allowed for 1000 things to be done. So, decisions had to be made to drop 500 things. Which 500 things? Whichones fell into theneed-to-have category and which into the nice-to-have category?

The reality is that the devs are capable of programming this conversion, but they do not have the resources to program the conversion.

I thank you Mr. Marketing weenie for placing so little value on my real-life time.

It was time consuming. Took me 8 hours to relist just under 4k items. I had to go AFK and ignore guild chat to do it. Too many people talking. Slowed me down. So I went undercover.

Empty inventory. Using the nifty new item categories feature, I pulled, retrieved and relisted in batches. I got into a zone and found my rhythm.

All done.

Thank goodness I don't have to do it again for 30 more days.

oh....oh..................

What really stinks is I spent 4 days moving all my stuff to another houseand had just relisted everything I had two days before the CU.

First I find out about the details missing until reloading...but ya really wanna shoot someone when you see the "pick up" vendor option there (after moving houses).

Doesn't the 'pickup vendor' option destroy the vendor and all it's contents?

no

pickup works on non initialized NPC vendors by owner of the structure who placed them
