Thread: Screw this profession Its not fun, it won't be fun, let everyone keep their vendors.
First off, no developer has come out and said that it is an exploit. No player has been banned, and no CSR has raised any issues over this. Therefore, it is only an exploit to a very small number of people.
Ok i know your special so i will repost this once again.
Quote of a dev response to the Top 5 issue: "We would like to see some suggested \changes that would address this situation. We agree in principle that Merchant Skills should not be
surrendered without the loss of the benefits of those skills."
Secondly, basd on DocSavag's recent posting, there is still no clear word from the dev team where they are taking Merchant and the whole vendor issue. It now sounds as if we will have to wait 2-3 months before any change is made. They also sound like they are listening to the cries of the majority of the playerbase. Having Business III and a vendor that can hold 300 items is perfectly fair. It allows anyone who wants to open a shop to do so without spending tons of skill points.
The limit for the bus 3 vendors will be 150 and its going to go up with merchant skills. They do listen to the people and thats why they decided to hold these changes until Patch 7.
Still, an even better soloution would be to give Merchants the ability to "craft/hire" vendors and vending machines and sell/rent them to any player regardless of their skills. These vendors will lack ad-barking and map registration, and will cost signifigantly more per hour then a normal vendor, but it would allow people who want to be Master Crafters but also be Master Warriors to run their shops without any hassles.
Ok why should warriors run shops? Because theyr greedy *****? I dont think thats something that should be rewarded.Fighters do the fighting and merchants and/or crafters do the selling.
Only way i would agree to rentable vendor machines is if the merchant got like 20% of the profits. This would keep enough people away from using the machines to allow true merchants to do their thing.
The economy varies from server to server. On some servers it is doing better than others. Most high level crafters on Naritus enjoy having combat and survival skills and either have only Novice Merchant or they have, as you would put it, exploit vendors. They do spend hours of their time getting resources and crafting excellent merchandise which is always available thanks to the fact that they have these vendors. Capping their item limit, or removing their "exploit" vendors will force them to make or break things. I am conducting a survey right now to get a rough idea of how many people would drop their crafting profession, or close their shops, if the proposed item limit went into effect. I am also trying to find out how many shops will close if people lose their vendors all together.
Fine let them close their shops. This will allow the people who dont cheat to take over. Just because on your server cheaters rule doesnt mean it should stay that way. Ohh and like i said before you can be a GREAT fighter while keeping your merchant/crafter skills. Heres an example:
4044 Artisan
Master Weaponsmith
Master TKA
4000 Brawler
3000 Merchant
2000 Medic
HOW CAN YOU WANT MORE?
Glad to see you've toned down your font size, and made a better arguement then "**edit** NOOB".
well here comes the Spam

Cause this is the only way I will sell. Guess by me paying all those vendors to stick around sell for me and be loyal was for nothing. Thanks guys for ruining the game for me and for everyone who has to listen to me Spam every 10 seconds. You Suck

No your bitching and moaning because you wont be able to exploit anymore. A smart person would start using the bazaar and smaller crates but you clearly arent one of those.
Why do i even try. The idea is for this to be a fun game to play. Not stand and watch my vendors and beg people to sell stuff on them(Unless thats your idea of fun). I wanted to be a realMerchant once until I found out that there is zero trust in this game. I dont trust you, you dont trust me. SO WHY WOULD I ASK YOU TO SELL ANYTHING FOR ME OR WHY WOULD ANYONE ASK ME TO SELL FOR THEM,YOU TWIT.
Thats the problem. The sooner you realize the better.

Want some cheese with that whine? Get business 3 or use the bazaar and quit your bitching. Ohh and btw why do you need to trust someone when all you have to do is sell someonea fewcrates of spice and count the money? Isnt it easier than running vendors anyway?
AllSOE wants is more **edit** money.
I am not going to lose my combat profession just so I can sell stuff.
I sell stuff as a community service. I don't have to... as a Master Doctor I can service myself just fine and do the odd bazaaar trade.
REPEAT: I will NOT get a second account just so I can sell stuff.
Open up a second slot on each server and maybe I will consider grinding up a merchant. Yes it will be a pain having to switch accounts whenever I need to restock the merchant but I won't be buying a second account to do it.
