Has anyone gone to level IV, placed a tent, and then surrendured the skills?

I was wondering if you can still control the tent then.....

Yeah don't move it to master. I like it right where it is. Give us something better at master.

I swear you guys deserve the devs and TH.

"No, dont make novice merchant mean anything! Screw them and make it Master!"

You Master criers are selfish, make no sense, and show no progression. Wish I could drop this class without hurting my city. Tiring quickly of you selfish people, the devs team NERFING everything that works, and having a game that requires more **edit** work than real life.

MERCHANT tents... notice how MERCHANT is in caps there? its because MERCHANT tents are for MERCHANTS! holy weeping father on the cross i cant believe someone is arguing that MERCHANT tents should be usable by non-MERCHANTs.

Hey, it takes a Doctor to place a med center, and an entertainer or a chef to place a cantina. The merchant tent is for merchants so you KNOW there's a vendor in there. You KNOW it's a shop.

Uh, if we seem selfish it's because we have precious little in the way of really useful skills to show for our skill points as it is. So when some of the few unique skills that higher level merchants have are challenged, yeah, we get a little protective.

I also think it's funny that you complain about the game's nerfs and then call us selfish in the very same sentence for resisting the nerfs aimed at us.

The difference here is that Cantinas and Med Centers have a use *other* than for show.

By the time I had earned the ability to place a Merchant Tent, I already had a PA Hall to set up as a mall... which made the skill rather pointless.

I'd rather see the skill moved DOWN. Novice is too far down, but I think a level 2 skillbox would do nicely... Advertising 2, that is. Why Advertising? Think about it... what does this particular building do? It advertises that vendors are inside. (Yes, I realize that the counter argument, "This makes your business more efficient!," but this is the effect, not the cause.)

What I am calling selfish is this "move every useful skill in merchant to master" attitude. I'm a Master Merchant too and I can say it MUCH cheaper to hire someone to place a guild hall than equivalent lots for a tent cost me personally. Give up a lot (that makes money) for a single tent. Not a chance.

Moving it to Novice may have been a stretch, but Efficiency 4 is high up on the tree and already have virtually the only bonus, besides more vendors, of this whole class. I keep merchant just for Efficiency 4.

Also I have to admit that that day I was reading yet another round of nerf this nerf that posts. Really don't understand people that think taking away from a game improves it. I think it was TKA that day. "My pistol 3 guy can't duel with a TKM, NERF Them!" just really offends. My apologies for the fervor, but I stick by the fact that merchant tents should be lowered to a more reasonable cost for lower level merchants to use them. A person should not have to get Master in a skill just to have any useful abilities. Heck Master for about 2 months now in Merchant and I STILL see no difference between novice and Hiring 4. Anyone else?

Hiring IV rocks. I hate that default clothing they give you!

Not all skills are for everyone which is why skills should be spread out in the tree so you can pick and choose what you want. No not everything should go into master but Master should mean something. There should be a reward for your patience and your efforts. Currnetly there isn't much there and that is a shame.

I dont' think the merchant tent should be lowered. I dont' think it should be raised. If it wa moved at all it should be in the advertising tree because it is an advertising advantage not an effiency advantage.

Novice merchant already gets additional vendor, and NPC vendors.. There are other skills I would like to see at novice. If they have to have a limitation on the vendor items the Novice Merchant should be a step up from Artisan Business III and IV.
