Other fact, the Art-person Correspondant has said "This majorly impacts all crafting professions. Iam a merchant as well as a Master Artisan and while I agree that getting that intital vendor was too easy I do not think it should be removed from the Artisan. Move it to Business 4 and increse the exp needed but leave it there. "

Changes need to be made, as it stands merchants are a throw-away class, and that is not right.

LOL, dude...ALL OF MERCHANT is a freebie and takes 0 work to get.

Put down a vendor. Go to sleep.

Wake up, get Novice Merchant. Put down Vendor #2. Go to sleep.

Wake up, get Vendor 1. Put down Vendor #3. Go to sleep.

Wake up, get Vendor 2. Put down Vendor #4. Go to sleep.

Go straight to sleep, not enough XP yet for Vendor 3.

Wake up, get Vendor 3. Put down Vendor #5. Go to sleep.

Go straight to sleep, not enough XP yet for Vendor 4.

Wake up, get Vendor 4. Put down Vendor #6. Go to sleep.

Do nothing for about 5 days.

Wake up, get the rest of Merchant, train as a Master. Go to sleep.

Now, compare yourself at Master Merchant to Novice Merchant. How much have you worked? 0. How much did you gain? 0!

I'll vote YES for eliminating the Artisan vendor if Merchant is ever made into a viable class. As it is, the class has zilch to offer. I was at Master Merchant and gave it all up when I realize that all I got for being a Master was a freaking C3PO vendor. Yay! What a consolation prize. I felt like the "special" kid who won that nifty gazoo at the carnival every time I played a game.

FIX MERCHANTS. FIX MERCHANTS. FIX MERCHANTS.

**edit** Artisans...I don't care about them. However, 12 threads for **edit**ing Artisans, and not 1 for fixing Merchants...geez...somebody should change their tampon.

Vote - NO

DTox, Im not sure if you have actually tried doing this, but it is not that easy. You only get 150exp per hour normally. Thats 3600 per day. That means doing absolutely nothing it would take 134 days to get master. If you want more than that, you actually have to work to get people in your shop if you want more than that. I personally have been routing my entire PA through my shop (with 6 merchants) for the past week and I have management IV and efficiency IV. Hiring III. I still need hiring IV and the entire advertising line. This is not a get-it-in-5-days profession, and it does take work to get people to leave their city and go to your shop. Dont know about you, but I have put a lot of work into this, so please do not insult the profession by calling it a freebie. It is not.

Also im glad people feel the need to post on a 'voting' thread without actually voting. Im sure the poster knew there were arguements - what I know is that there are other threads to post them on, and thats where you guys who are not voting need to go. He wanted a nice clean vote and heaven forbid you guys let him have it.

I agree with DTox!

Earning merchent exp is nothing compared to grinding weaponsmith, armorsmith, droid engineer, etc or the combat skills of kill, heal, kill. heal, etc.

You set up a vendor (I only have one) and then advertise on the planetary map. See the peeps come and buy. You level without doing a thing. I know that it does take a little longer tnan 5 days to master, say maybe 10 days max.

Get a life and a real profession!

Once you take vendors from Business, are you going to:

1. Remove Bone Armor, CDEF Weapons, and Personal Harvesters from Engineering? Those items take away from Armorsmiths, Weaponsmiths, and Architects!

2. Remove Clothing and Food from Domestic Arts? Those items take away from Tailors and Chefs!

Get real. Artisan is the launching point for many Elite professions. As such, it has a smattering of lesser Elite Profession items to craft.

I agree ditch it all. Who needs all that in artisan if it makes elite classes better

This topic is pointless as it's the same people for it and same people against it. Nothing going to change by talking about it in this forum. It's been submitted as an issue twice. No matter who's against it this topicis a done deal as far as being submitted. Let's drop this topic and work on something that's not been submitted already and needs work.

I vote, YES to remove from Buss 3 but NO to removing for the artist line altogether.

It is not good the way it is, I am for making changes to it.

I'm going to vote no, with a statement.

Don't really care if it's allowed or not.

Moving vendors to novice merchant will accomplish very little. People will just pick up novice merchant and be done with it.

Even if you move it to a GCXP requirement, people will just grind survey tools to get it.

It will affect things for about a week, then everyone who wants a shop will have novice merchant and won't worry about the rest of the tree.

This is not the solution you are looking for.

What? You think SWG game rules are based on democracy? And more so a democracy in a minority forum which 95% of the player population doesn't read?

Your vote is useless. The best you can do is have it in the Top 5 list of issues for merchants.

Well said Dtox, and btw I get around 15k of xp aday with my vendors without batting an eye so yes Merchant can be done in a short amount of time.I will vote yes if only a master artisan can get a vendor that way they actually have to do something to get the vendor, and when player citys come they will be full of crappy bone armor and weapon powerup vendors from every new player setting up a vendor on there 3rd day of playing.
