Thread: I resign as Merchant Correspondant, Game has forced me to quit (Details Inside)
seki
I sympathize with your loss, but hope that you can make a fine new beginning.
Whether you rejoin this game or move on to other lives, my best wishes go with you.
Same thing happened to meMarqie, except that my toon was delted. After 2 weeks of no ticket answer (and playing a combat toon, just to be able to post a ticket) I decided to go ahead and remake "Blues" on a second account.
I have read alot of your of your post and can say I am saddened by your departure.
This is totally weak.
One of the players with the most developer contact quits because of something like this...
Ugh.
Take care Margie ... as others have posted, you did a bang up job considering the hand you were dealt ![]()
And then to get the triple whammy of bugs all at once with the shop poofing, etc., I'd a done the same.
See ye in EQ 2 ![]()
[or whereever you end up]
Margie,
I beg you to take some time and reconsider. A devastating loss like this can break the spirit of the strongest person. Take some time off and do something else. Come back to this decision after that.
Now more than ever we need people like you helping us make this game better than it currently is. You have been an excellent representative for the Merchant profession and losing you forever would be a terrible blow to our chances of making this profession all it can be.
Don't lose hope - if your sign is there - your house isn't gone. I'll wager the lots are still being deducted from your total count as well.
The problem is - the harvester sitting where your house is.
I've had this happen to me before (not the harvester - missing a house and ending up at 0,0) they do come back if there is nothing blocking them. The occassion I had to land at 0,0 there was apparently (so I was told the next day) a special Jabba mission spawn over my house - it just wasn't there. I have two accounts - both were logged out in the shop. One never did get logged on that whole day - the other, after MANY attempts DID get logged on - but she was at 0,0, which btw is NOT a good place on tatooine for a nonfighting character to be by her lonesome.
What the CSR has to do is move the harvester out of the way so your shop has room to rematerialize.
I've had houses go missing more than once, I've even seen blocks of 50 go missing at the same time, an entire town. It's a horrible problem - but not one that is quite as final as it seems when you walk up to where your shop is and it's gone. I truly freaked the first time that happened.
You will be missed if you truly decide to go. We would all hate to see you go, but in the end, you are the one who must make the decision. Please keep in touch with us at let us know if you need anything.
*May the force be with you* (or at least a CSR)
Marqie, I really hope you reconsider. But I can completely understand your decision. I haven't read a lot of other profession forums, but it was rather clear that you were possibly the best correspondent/advocate of all of them. You will be sorely missed. ![]()
For those of you who don't know Ioo ingame or play on the Kauri server, she is a shining star and is easily one of the best characters we have. She will be sorely missed. Her colorfulness and creativity are without bound, as she easily made everyone's gaming experience brighter. Take care sweetie..
