Yay!you love me. Wow I really got onyour nerves there. Well, you have shown your true colors, congratulations.

I feel honored you called me elitist, I didn't think I was anyone in the merchant community. Thanks for the props. And knowing I post on these forums enough for you to say I flame everyone. I think I have a stalker now. Woot! Lucky me.

I never flamed you anywhere, yet you chose to come out of the closet with your true opinion and show the world what an idiot you are (oops that's a flame). Congratulations again. Good luck with your grind and I hope you make Jedi.

Us non combat people will just go over here and not play the game some more.

Interesting. Leave it to the hologrinders to discover new and improved ways to get XP faster than the developers intended. I'm at 0034 now, I'll be gaining xp at 150xp per hr per vendor until I'm master.

Yeah, and what's wrong with that? The hologrinders found another way to grind xp faster than the DEVs intended. That is the truth.

This reminds me of the musician macro to get 4x the xp and do 30 second full buffs

It does, grind faster. Discovered by a hologrinder with an error in his macro. Start Stop Start Stop, more XP. The DEVS had stated you only get XP every 8 seconds on a flourish. The macroers discovered how to get it each second.

or doing an ID macro with a 3rd party clicker to master ID in 3 hrs.

Again, finding a way to do it faster. However this one is against the TOS, so it might be a bad example. I never accused you or your friend of cheating in any way. Is it all about you?

I seriously can't wait until the Jedi revamp. Then the only people doing professions will be those who chose to.

Also true, but where does it flame you or your friend? I can't wait for the hologrind to be over, then people can play the professions we like, and then we won't have to worry about answering the same "how do I grind your profession in 30 seconds?" posts. No flame on you.

I don't get it, and neither do you obviously...

Not getting involved in the orgy going on here. I just want to say that I appreciate the effort in writing this. I really don't understand why some get so uptight about a different method than the one they deem 'acceptable' being offered. Play the game. if you like doing it one way, do it. Don't be bothered by others doing it another way. Everyone can have fun in different ways, why claim to be so righteous in your methods? Personally I like the idea of having a semi-active role in my merchant XP. Its not like someone is crying to have vendors removed or maintenance reduction is unfair. just another way to do it. I especially like the point someone made about being able to level rifleman on low level mobs, I wouldn't do it. would you?

Xp is tracked by Player not by vendor

having 1 char look at all 6 vendors in a row does not net anymore than 50xp per 10 minutes. You'll recieve 50 xp for the first one they look at and 0 for the next 5 (assuming it is before the 10 minute timer). I wish it worked the way you descirbed it . you do get more get faster xp for having differnt people look at it but each will have the same 10m timer on them.

My advice is if you have 5 char running just have 1 on each vendor easier to macro that way and less cycling to mess up

you're a cracker

i'm making 1.5k merchant xp every 15 minutes, so stuff it until you really know what you're talking about i'm the one wathing the xp rack up and making 100k a day (yawn) thanks to friends that are so much smater the me yay! master merchant in 4 days (from when i started 2 days ago ).

Have FUN i'll be done with this prof in record time woot, and i can get on to my last 4 badges.

yay 97 badges in jsut 2 more days, don't you wish you were me neeneer neeneer.

Hi all Merchants out there, I've got a method that will allow you to grind out merchant in approximately 4 days..

It uses the standard macro for using a vendor however it allows you to target multiple vendors in sequence and basically multiply merchant xp of a character by the amount of vendors you have..

One character is worth 200xp per hour. *

That is 3.6K per day for looking at one vendor. (18hr day)

So once you get 6 vendors this adds up to 21.6K per 18hr day.

At the moment I've got 5 chars doing this for a friend. So add that xp (108K) per 18hr day plus whatever she gets for her vendors per day she will master merchant rather fast

Even if you dont have 5 chars it is still a quick method..

I'm not sure if your allowed to post macros on the boards but if people are interested I can give to them directly or I'll post it on the boards if it is ok..

If you know this method then please disregard all I've said

* jarik, i'm at managment 4 it's 300 xp every 15 minutes per vendor

An alternative would be:

/tar <vendorname>;
/pause 2;
/ui action vendorUse;
/pause 5;
/ui action defaultButton;
/pause 5;

/tar <vendor2name>;
/pause 2;
/ui action vendorUse;
/pause 5;
/ui action defaultButton;
/pause 5;

Then loop that for how many ever vendors you have. Its a little less finiky and easier to kickoff.

obviously your ego says you do >shrug< doesn't matter to me blah blah blah all you want, 100% truth, this class and anything in the entertainer line is for people that honestly don't want to play the game, or for people that that don't know how to. The only excpetion i can see to that are the miners that use it for the matanace reduction.

guys, seriously, this class isn't that hot and shouldn't be considered that hot no matter what, you're not some special class, you put up vendors... um yay.... seriously yay...

The class isn't worth having, it's kinda like the BH of the non-combat classes, looks cool, but there's nothing to it and never will be.

How did you get most of your equipment? I assume you purchased a majority of it from a crafter of some sort. And most crafters no longer sell their wares by hand on the street cornet. Hence the player based economy in SWG is heavily dependent on the use of merchant vendors. And I would strongly disagree with you. Many merchants are played by many people who do want to, and enjoy playing the game.

I do not consider my merchant character "HOT". However,I do feel he plays an important role in getting player crafter items into the hands of non-crafting players.

Here is the macro to select and view multiple vendors with one character thereby multiplying your xp by amount of vendors you look at..

To start with you need to click each of the vendors you are going to use in sequence.

Then add the following macro, 1 for each vendor you areusing.

The following is for two vendors..

/ui action cycleTargetPrev;
/pause 2;
/ui action vendorUse;
/pause 5;
/ui action defaultButton;
/pause 5;

/ui action cycleTargetPrev;
/pause 2;
/ui action vendorUse;
/pause 5;
/ui action defaultButton;
/pause 5;

There it is, good luck levelling merchant.

And that being said,

Thanks Jarik for thinking outside the box. I tried this technique by trying to target vendors by name. However, since each vendor is names "Vendor such and such" the SWG parser seems to only looks at the first word in the name wich is the same for all vendors. Therefore, I was only able to target 1 vendor.

Great idea on using the /ui action cycleTargetPrev

Actually the majority of my purchases are done on the standard bazaar anything special i need i do get by hand i don't have to many lazy friends and most of them work with custom orders anyways and even IF they were forced to get a merchant hey you get one of those with the artsian tree yay more free SP

Your comment about the hologrinders is true however I think they are not the only ones whowould use this macro anyway. The quicker it is done the more benefits you recieve as a Merchant to sell your wares.

I'm not a hologrinder, been there done that. Unlocked.

I dont see how this is reminiscent of the musician bug or a 3rd party clicker.. unless your referring to speed involved. This macro greatly speeds up the mastering of merchant... Taking it as anything other than an in game macro and comparing to 3rd party programs does not make sense.

I did it to help a friend and now I see it works be good for others who are struggling with merchant as either holo-prof or choice to get what they want out of it.

I admire your choice to get merchant xp the normal way, however in my line of work if I can find a better, efficient way to do something I will..

I take your point about the jedi revamp, however whilst players did still choose to grind out professions for Jedi it was in essence a forced decision by SOE in order for them to unlock..as someone else pointed out. "dont hate the player, hate the game" hehe
